- **POSITION PURPOSE**

The Quality Superintendent is accountable for ensuring that the plant follows and adheres to quality protocols and produces the highest quality product so as too in terms of food safety. This position oversees the Quality Supervisors and Quality Analysts. This position works across all plant processes from agave reception, fermentation, distillation, blending, bottling, warehouse, laboratory and maintenance to ensure product quality and food safety.
- **FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSABILITIES**
- Ensure that the raw materials, liquids and distillates used in the finished product meet specifications and operational requirements established through the procedure execution, instructions, protocols, test and methods previously defined.
- Ensure that every finished product coming from the plant accomplish specifications and legal requirements through quality control and inspection implementation that verifies the conformity of the products thus guaranteeing a process highly productive.
- Implement process, procedures and/or methods to ensure targets and objectives accomplishment established by the company in terms of Quality and create performance reviews for the process in terms of quality and food safety.
- Design and implement new procedures and/or methods using the equipment at the laboratory to measure control parameters in raw materials, liquids, distillates and finished products promoting optimization and sources reduction.
- Conduct the root cause analysis for the identified non-conformities in the plant integrating all involved areas in each event so as too the RCA for customer/ consumer complaints and external NC for suppliers
- Create the food safety and quality action plans for the identified non-conformities following up the department commitments until its completion in the system interacting if necessary, with suppliers to prevent and resolve the issued problems.
- Ensure the laboratory good functionality and equipment though personnel training and giving the appropriate maintenance guaranteeing finished product and personnel safety.
- Plan laboratory equipment capabilities for futures needs supported with evidence and quotations for annual CAPEX plan
- Ensure that registers, forms and documents in the area are updated, properly filled and stored according to quality management system implemented.
- Manage in SAP system the damaged material and finished product inventory related to non-conformities, customer/consumer complaints and supplier rejections blocking and releasing product according to food safety and quality criteria.
- Collaborate with the CRT & Food Safety Specialist in the internal audit program execution and managing and closing all non-conformities related to the area.
- Build people capability through effective employee relations, training, developing and communication for front-line hourly.

- Put on hold or block any input, process or finished product that has any food safety and quality non-conformity.
- Stop any process or activity in case it is detected a potential problem putting in risk the personnel integrity, facilities, inputs, products, equipment or regulatory aspect not in compliance
- Stop and report any activity that use resources as electricity, water, raw materials, supplies, etc in an improper way.
- **POSITION PROFILE**

**Education**:
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Food Science, or equivalent degree, preferred.
