**Job Description**:
**Demonstrate Leadership**
- Independently establishes action plans to accomplish the completion of a job or project.
- Evaluates body shop manufacturing processes and equipment for assigned areas, and identifies opportunities for improvement
- Directs the design, development and/or improvements of manufacturing processes and equipment for assigned areas.
- Coordinates input from internal/external customers to assist with problem solving, and ultimately improve quality/resolve issues
- Actively identifies new areas for learning and takes advantage of learning opportunities.
**Roles & Responsibilities**
- Improve dimensional quality for Body and General Assembly parts and subassemblies in launch/steady state production driving continuous improvement in % on target metrics and reducing variation.
- Responsible to ensure and monitor body and general assembly integration.
- Use Red X and other problem-solving tools to quickly and effectively find the root cause and correct quality and dimensional problems.
- Lead dimensional problem-solving activities related to dimensional requirements, processes and final vehicle status quality.
- Manage and work with suppliers as required to correct and improve their parts dimensionally.
- Implement and monitor the dimensional Process Control/Measurement Plan for BIW subassemblies and assemblies and ultimately the finished vehicle.
- Provide process and tooling support. Recommend tooling changes and adjustments to help improve the build process.
- Complete tooling 101 and repeatability studies on tooling as required.
- Support laser scanning activities such as verifying nominals and creation and creating additional measurement points.
- Support program launch/Issue Resolution Teams as needed with dimensional studies and problem solving.
**Required Skill Set**
- Thorough knowledge of body shop tooling and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret dimensional data. (Ex : supplier data, laser scans)
- Proficiency with laser scanning and other metrology methods to measure parts and subassemblies.
- Able to use GDIS to review, analyze, and monitor plant dimensional data.
- Familiar with using UG/Vis Mockup to cut sections, take nominal measurements, and review product geometry for use in problem solving.
- Knowledge of datum schemes and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
- High level of oral and written communication skills
- High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with product and manufacturing engineering as well as plant personnel and suppliers
- High level of analytical abilities to solve complex problems
- Facilitator/Leadership skills
- Proficient in Microsoft software
- Automotive manufacturing launch experience
- Knowledge of computer software as it pertains to manufacturing.
- Knowledge of body and trim assembly processes
- This position may require extensive travel to assembly facilities in North America
**Additional Job Description**:
**Required Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s Degree: Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Mechatronic Engineer and all Engineering related.
- Required experience in similar position: from 3 to 5 years.
- Available to change shifts (4x3, 5x2, 6x1).
- English Level: Advanced.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Microsoft Office.
