Operations Representative
** On-site role Mon-Fri (w/1 hour lunch)**

Within our organization, the Operations department works directly with terminals, rails, depots, motor carriers and suppliers in the region daily. Specifically, Operations is ensuring all equipment is in good order and moving timely. This is accomplished through the use of internal systems for planning and monitoring equipment flows, managing empties to booking ratios, ensuring empty availability for vessel repositioning, while making sure no equipment is idling in the region.

**Responsibilities**:

- Dispatch directly with house truckers all import and export door move job orders and availability status. Timely and accurate door job order creation is required.
- Monitor all dispatched job orders to ensure appointments are made and communicate all items not meeting OOCL requirements directly to Supplier. Monitor and enforce adherence to supplier appointment compliance.
- Communicate with customer service for any appointment changes or missed appointments as information is received from the supplier. Handle exceptions and service recoveries within company and departmental guidelines.
- Communicate/coordinate with our Operations group, (PROCUREMENT) regarding any concerns or shortcomings related to supplier performance/power availability.
- Update actions and service shortfalls in OOCL systems.
- Keep VTM updated and analyze opportunities for better routes and costs.
- Evaluate suppliers every 6 months and review important points of service.

**Preferred Skills**:

- Customer service skills
- Truck tariffs, overweight, shipper handling, import and export process
- Store door import and export process (coordinate with port office, Truck vendor, customs, and customers appointments in facility)
- Government rules and regulations
- Knowledge of OOCL enterprise system
- Analytical research

**Qualifications**:

- Customer relations telephone, ability to multi-task
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Attention to detail and vendors relations
