**Commodity SDE**:

We are looking to hire a Commodity SDE to join our team at Monterrey.

**Basic Responsibilities**
- Supports and complies with established Company’s Corporate Principles and goals.
- Understand and comply with Quality requirements such as automotive requirements
- Provide technical expertise related to specific commodities in support of supplier readiness activities, such as technological feasibility studies, evaluation of suppliers, discussion, and definition of criteria for the approved supplier list
- Provide technical expertise related to specific commodities in support of supplier audits and problem solving / escalation
- Develop and maintain documents and procedures related to quality standards, risk analysis, lessons learned from product recalls, product audits, field returns and repairs, complaints, scrap, and rework, and retain documented information as evidence.
- Interpret prints and measurement tools (GD&T).
- Utilize basic quality tools along with problem solving and lean manufacturing techniques in the support of continuous improvement, root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions promoting lessons learned process at suppliers.
- Perform activities in coordination with other departments, effectively respond and communicate in a timely manner. Developing and maintaining productive working relationships.
- Participate in cross-functional working groups and assist the conclusion of activities.
- Initiate, complete and ensure proper conformity of engineering changes to quality standards.
- Trigger additional escalation levels as needed in order to protect internal and external customer.
- Have an auditor perspective including being part of the solution.
- Work on other duties and special projects as it relates to the position.

**Specific Responsibilities**
- Support in the activity for supplier management through the achievement of all ZF specified deliverables related to product quality
- Assist in the management and maintenance of external supplier KPI's relevant to product quality and durability.
- Effectively develop suppliers using core quality tools as it relates to Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEA development, Control Plan Development, MSA, SPC, and Control Charts.
- Effectively lead and participate in all activities related to customer and internal complaints utilizing all problem-solving tools as it relates to 8D methodologies.
- Conduct and Lead Supplier Audits as it relates to pre sourcing, IATF, VDA, AIAG, and ZF specific audits.
- Effectively interpret and communicate manufacturing and technical specifications
- Requires 40 - 70% travel.

**Essential Skills and experience**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- 5-6+ years of professional experience in Quality, Production, Logistics, Cost/Process Planning
- Extensive expert knowledge in production methods of one or more commodities
- Strong functional/product knowledge in problem solving methodology and techniques.
- Ability to train others.
- Proven ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is in consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Proven creativity and analytical methods (i.e. Six Sigma ) with a high-level of attention to detail
- Deep knowledge of automotive quality core tools, including Statistical Process Control (SPC), PFMEA and Control Plans, GR&R and MSA
- Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel and management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent English language competency - both written and oral
- Excellent presentation skills

**Preferred Skills and experience**:

- Master’s Degree in engineering or technical field (e.g. Mechanical, Industrial, production Technology) with a very strong technical background
- ASQ CQE
- Internal/external Auditor Certification
- Experience of problem-solving methodologies
- Experience with SAP and Axalant or comparable ERP and engineering change systems
- Certification as Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt or comparable improvement methodology.
- Proficient in other languages (particularly Spanish or German).
