As a Validation Engineer, you’ll be responsible to ensure quality, reliability, and compliance to standards and regulations of new LED Modules and Lighting Systems that are being developed. This will bring new innovations in LED modules and Systems for the North American Lighting market. You will be part of our talented R&D team in Tijuana and work in a highly diverse, dynamic, and cross-functional team.

What you’ll do
- Act as the Quality Project Leader to ensure quality, reliability, and compliance to standards and regulations of new LED Modules and Lighting Systems that are being developed.
- Translate Customer and Product requirements to CTQ’s (critical to Quality) and validate the CTQ’s through efficient test plans and use of statistical tools.
- Define and develop QTP’s (Quality Test Plan) and review results at the different stages of the design.
- Organize Design Reviews and DFMEA sessions and follow-up on actions with Project Team to manage risks effectively.
- Perform reliability calculations and simulations to determine Product Lifetime and for extended warranty and include during Milestone Reviews. Escalate when Product Quality/reliability is at risk and drive for mitigation
- Ensure availability of Product Certifications & Compliance to applicable standards by working closely with the Approbation team.
- Ensure availability of Product Environmental Declarations such as ROHS & REACH.
- Close feedback loops from Customer complaints and factory design quality complaints by embedding learnings into new design rules, QTP’s, TSOP’s (Standard Test Operating Procedures), and DFMEA’s.
Your qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- 2 to 5 years of experience in the job offered or in a similar position involving Electronic Products.
- Good knowledge of LED devices, PCB’s (Printed Circuit Boards), electronic and mechanical components, and Lighting Systems
- Good understanding of quality and reliability tools such as DFSS and DFMEA, and CTQ Flowdown methodology
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Customer focus with an outside-in mentality and strong leadership to drive problems to resolution
- Green Belt Certification is a plus.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- An excellent communicator and highly organized
- Ability to learn quickly, handle multiple projects, and work with mínimal supervision in a cross-functional team environment
- Fluent in both English and Spanish
