The Sr Controls Engineer is responsible for the design of safe production processes capable of meeting the quality and demand specifications of the Customer. The Engineer provides the necessary support and training to manufacturing for the elaboration of the product in an efficient way. Is responsible for supporting the introduction of new products for its manufacture, such as operating instructions, visual aids, tools and equipment, being a reference for the manufacturing areas in terms of knowledge of customer specifications and product development. This role will ensure the execution of Industry 4.0 initiatives

**Responsibilities**:

- Plan and execute automation projects
- Execute Industry 4.0 initiatives
- Support Manufacturing Engineering team to implement Poka yokes and improvements in the production areas to improve quality, efficiency and protect customer.
- Coordinate and implement Engineering changes and deviations. Ensure the engineering changes are executed as planned to avoid temporary deviations.
- Design and quotation of tools (new or modifications).
- Lead the development of PFMEAS of manufacturing systems.
- Participate in internal / external corrective actions and propose effective actions. Attend customer complains (8D) and implement corrective action.
- Preparation and maintenance of product / process documentation (instructions, visual aids, process charts, methods, identifications, area layouts, manuals).
- Seek opportunities to implement error-proof devices (poka-yoke).
- Keep updated layout of your assigned areas.
- Ensure compliance with the AS9100 system, Engineering Procedures and Customer Specific Requirements.
- Propose and implement actions to reduce the cost of Scrap in their areas, prevention of quality defects
- Review and proactive validation of Standards for each start-up, samples or change of Engineering for adjustment of Work in SAP.
- Communication and scaling of open tool issues and plans from early design stages.
- Design work stations under Ergonomics guidelines.
- Active participation on the development and evaluation of the WSRA (Workstation Risk Assessments) and JSA (Job Safety analysis) implementation.
- Implement standardization of standard work and manufacturing best practices.
- Support the training in order to develop technicians or operators as required.

**Qualifications - Internal**

**Education level required**
- Bachelor’s degree in Electromechanical or Mechatronic, Mechanical Engineering.
- Fluent in English/Spanish

**Years and area of experience required**
- 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering

**Technical knowledge**
- Experienced in automation process and familiar with PLC programing.
- Proven and solid experience in Solid Works and AutoCAD
- Proficient programing electrical testing such as Cirris, Horizon, Cable eye, Hi-pot, Dynalab.
- PLC programming and troubleshooting skills on automatic equipment.
- Machine guarding knowledge
- Experience in designing and implementing fixtures.
- Cost Out projects experience
- Lean manufacturing experience (VSM, TPM, 5S, SMED, Poka Yoke, etc)
- Statistical tools knowledge (Six Sigma)
- Solving Problem techniques (5 Why's, 8D's, etc.)
- Ergonomic Knowledge
- Project management knowledge
