**Position Summary**: The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring the successful progression of the product development activities for several small to mid-level volume regional programs, as part of a customer project within a specified program. This position manages and leads the product development process for programs of moderate complexity while providing functional direction to the product development team and associated management through successful completion of the project both within time and budgetary constraints, all while adhering to ZF company standards/policy and customer requirements.

**Role Expectations**:

- Serve as primary contact/liaison to customer with regards to all product development related topics; identify information/data and resources needed by customer to ensure timely transfer of such information to appropriate ZF department/team and the customer.
- Prepare and present the status of product development work packages at project gate reviews to the customer and internal management (including corrective actions if necessary).
- Work with ZF engineering teams to support business development, capacity, and continuity.
- Plan, manage and release product build levels in cooperation with the extended project team.
- Manage prototype builds and ensure adherence to customer design requests and changes.
- Ensure product maturity targets are achieved as well as all product development-related project objectives (i.e. customer requirements, timing, cost budget, etc.).
- Facilitate/conduct project meetings regularly in conjunction with core team, support staff, and managers, and discuss updates on assigned tasks and project targets and milestones.
- Compile technical customer requirements and ensure customer buy-in and agreement.
- Create product specification together with ZF product development departments.
- Managing projects that vary in level of complexity
- Leading (interdisciplinary) project teams and ensuring their effectiveness
- Act as a link between internal & external customer, supplier, partners and departments
- Manage the project scope, time, budget, contracting and quality according to relevant standards (e.g. DG 05/11, DCF 23-0168, DDE-21-02); delivers the business case / profitability
- Execute a project plan in alignment with the strategic goals and perform cross-departmental planning for all functions involved to meet the project targets and requirements
- Manage risks, resolve problems / issues and manage baseline changes
- Guarantee exchange of information between corporate functions, internal working groups to encourage knowledge transfer
- Report & escalate information and issues to decision makers
- Responsible to manage KPIs (profitability, expenditures) to target
- Ensure effective change management process with respect to cost analysis and engineering change implications (i.e. quotations, validations, timing, communications to affected departments/groups, etc.).
- Develop project plans and update metrics to track and report the status of the project to ZF management as well as customer representatives.
- Compile and document all lessons learned from the project.
- Support risk management activities and ensure the effective hand-off of any open points/issues.
- Participate in the development and continuous improvement of departmental guidelines and procedures
- Ensure departmental compliance with all IATF16949 and ISO-14001 requirements, ZF corporate policies, and divisional directives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Essential Skills and Experience**:

- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business Management or related technical field
- 1-4+ years advanced experience within a product development and/or powertrain manufacturing environment
- 1-2+ years of experience with project management in the automotive industry
- Deep knowledge of the structural, procedural, and technical facets of an automatic transmission/EVD development project
- Ability to lead and motivate others
- Familiar with international project management methodologies (i.e., agile), PM Certification
- Expertise in setting and managing customer expectations and interacting with senior leade
