TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control. They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface. They support Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes. They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.

Responsibilities Include:
Develop and deploy new plating technologies for the manufacturing plants within the business unit
Design and implement digital factory for plating in various global manufacturing settings
Responsible for all phases of the development process, from concept, design, through process release to manufacturing plants
Provide controls engineering and expertise during development of new plating technologies along with mechanical and chemical engineers
Be hands on to run experimental trials with the various manufacturing technologies in a chemical environment
Interact with vendors, manufacturing teams, and other engineering functions as required to support process development
Determine specifications, perform engineering analysis, create preliminary designs, coordinate, and support pre-production fabrication and testing
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Produce technical documentation, detail design drawings and requirements for production
Document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems

Additional Responsibilities:
Provide information on new technologies and development projects to the plating Center of Excellence (CoE) and other manufacturing facilities within TE
Adopt and adapt to relevant engineering standards and agency practices
Grow professionally into a technical expert and deployment leader for the next generation of manufacturing technologies
Willingness to travel globally for extended durations when needed and interest in working hands on in a manufacturing environment are key requisites.

What your background should look like:
Minimum of B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering or similar engineering
Fluent English, spoken and written
7 -10 years of engineering experience focused on industrial control system design
Digital factory & Industry 4.0 experience
Experience in Python a plus as well as other machine languages

Experience in most of the following:
Microcontrollers and microprocessors and associated firmware development (C, C++)
Communications protocols, Ethernet IP, Modbus TCP, profinet, Ethercat, CANopen
Softwares Proficy Machine Edition, TIA Portal, CX-ONE, Sysmac studio & KV Studio
Safety reliable systems design & programing
Machine guarding & safety reliable systems international standards
Inverters, Servo, Stepper, AC, DC, and other motors and controllers used in industrial machinery
Variety of sensors used in machine control
Autocad electrical for electrical panel layout design, cable design and routing
Embedded Motion control software: Beckhoff TwinCAT III, Trio Motion Perfect, basic PLC ladder or structured text
Familiar with Wonderware, WinCC, Proface, Delta, Allen Bradley HMI programming
Drive for digital readiness, integrate systems
Artificial intelligence/ machine learning concepts
Omron PLC, GE Fanuc PLC, Emerson PLC, Allen Bradley, Siemens PLC program experience
Selection and sizing of electrical components commonly used in industrial controls
Familiar with schematic and PCB layout software
Designing machinery for placement the global market, with a strong understanding of CE
Vision systems & vision sensors knowledge, Keyence & Cognex
Strong electrical & electronic troubleshooting
Strong communication skills to present concepts to team members and management, while defending your decisions and selling your ideas for the successful implementation of new products and processes.
Propensity for learning new skills and improving personal development.
Possess a strong mechanical aptitude
