Maintenance Superintendent

Location: Guadalajara plant, Mexico

Reports to: Maintenance Manager

The Maintenance Superintendent will program, coordinate, execute and supervise technical, administrative tasks and activities of maintenance personnel in the mechanical area, as well as the workshop, using the allocated material resources and tools efficiently to ensure that they are fulfilled with safety and quality and within the scheduled time and cost, guaranteeing the maximum of productivity and maintaining the life of equipment, machinery and facilities.

Core Responsibilities:

- Preventive and Predictive Maintenance - Be responsible for the planning and execution of maintenance plans and programs. Ensure the key activities for equipment longevity like vibration analyses and lubrication.
- Maintain world class safety performance - Encourage personal care of maintenance area members, contractors, and internal customers, through planned, unplanned inspections of EPP, tools, and by randomly reviewing safety guidelines, permits, and field reviews.
- Differentiate the customer experience - Promote a culture of quality the first time in maintenance work, raising awareness among employees on the importance of not impacting the quality of our products through interventions on production teams and forming the habit of 5S's.
- Cost Smart - Compliance with the spending goal of Mechanical Stores and with the budget assigned for maintenance of area of responsibility.
- Foster Innovation Culture - Integrate collaborators into multidisciplinary groups in order to develop their talent for innovation and continuous improvement. Implementation of 1st pillar of IPS - (Ingredion Performance System) HR, OEE, 5ss. Develop a WB project for each team. Support to the management of the daily routine for CC, starch and gluten teams.
- Transform the Employee Experience - Create an inclusive culture, by complying with principles that meet the needs of unionized personnel with the aim of generating reciprocal commitment. Create and strengthen an integral structure in my work team where each member feels motivated, valued and respected.
- Quality, Safety and Environment - Ensure departments’ compliance with all applicable norms and regulations, as well as internal procedures.
- Other related activities - Participate in Root Cause Analyses for identification of failures factors in equipment. Resolve escalated issues.

Mandatory requirements:

- Engineering Degree, ideally in Mechanical, Electronical, Mechatronics, or similar engineering.
- Work experience in Maintenance planning and scheduling, and other Maintenance functions in a manufacturing environment
- General English fluency, both written and spoken
- Previous experience in a leadership role, managing people
- General knowledge of safety, quality and environment norms
- Availability to tend to emergencies outside of normal working hours

Desirable requirements:

- Project management skills
- Previous experience as Maintenance Manager or Superintendent
- Experience with SAP
- Budget control and management
