Implement local and regional savings strategies that generate savings compared to managed expense. Strategic Sourcing Methodology, SRM, Category Management, and Contract Management implementation where applicable. 1. Conducts industry and market (local) research and has a high degree of technical and commercial knowledge within a basic product (basic product group). 2. Evaluates in an accurate and timely manner the mechanical drawings to determine the correct supplier capability requirements by clearly identifying specifications including, but not limited to, material and tolerance attributes. 3. Performs costing and manages the request for quotation with the appropriate supplier to ensure Teleflex obtains competitive component (raw material) prices in a timely manner. 4. Works closely with the Finance department to obtain financial information, update CIPs in PlanView, define transfers, etc. 5. Reviews existing contracts for next steps. Lead negotiations with local suppliers to renew contracts, and agreements. 6. Ensures that the tactical procurement team is following the strategy. 7. Solid knowledge of the manufacturers, suppliers, and market for assigned products and communicate this knowledge to estimators, buyers, engineers, and cost personnel. 8. Coordinate with procurement, R&D, and business unit teams to identify and execute cost reduction, localization, and new business opportunities to improve costs. 9. Identifies the best potential suppliers and initiate commercial and organizational partnerships. 10. Conducts VSM, and lean exercises with the best suppliers to identify and eliminate waste and increase profitability. 11. Provides functional guidance to young/new employees to achieve operational objectives. Acquire, develop and retain the best people.

Experiência y requisitos

EDUCATION - Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field. - Advanced English (Conversational and written) EXPERIENCE - 5 years of related experience required: one or more years of equivalent industry experience preferred. - Lean, Six Sigma certification (Preferable).
