**GENERAL PURPOSE**
The Junior Scheduler assists in creating initial construction schedules based on engineering plans and specifications. This role involves reviewing and integrating schedules from trade partners and preparing weekly schedule analyses for ongoing projects. The Junior Scheduler also supports the development of project phasing plans and conducts schedule forensic analysis for contract changes. Additionally, this position involves helping to prepare integrated master schedules for all construction phases. The Junior Scheduler will receive guidance and feedback from senior schedulers to aid in professional growth and development within the department.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Collaborates with schedulers to update program schedules, consolidating input from different facilities teams.
- Examines schedules to verify the correct utilization of program-level standard codes, layouts, and reports, ensuring data accuracy.
- Conducts quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) checks on Microsoft Project schedules, validating logical connections to ensure adherence to scheduling standards across various project categories.
- Conducts QA/QC assessments on schedule submissions from contractors, ensuring alignment with contract scope and terms.
- Reviews drawings to ascertain whether work falls within the defined scope and interprets contract terms and conditions to assess the validity of compensable or non-compensable time extensions.
- Assists in the definition of the Work Breakdown Structure in the assigned projects, to ensure adequate monitoring of progress.
- Conducts Critical Path analyses.
- Conducts KPIs and Variances analyses, such as Earned Value, Schedule Variance, and others according to specific project requirements. Supports the scheduling team in project reporting as needed.
**SCHEDULE MANAGEMENT**
- Maintain overall construction schedules in MS Project format for both internal and external presentation.
- Oversees the risk exposure process, accounting for all potential unforeseen time impacts on the schedule.

- Current student working toward a degree in Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in the construction industry or project management.
- Must be able to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, memos, plans, construction documents, contract documents, and specifications.
- Must be able to read and understand work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Good at mathematics with strong analytical skills and attention to detail is required.
- Exceptional organizational skills are required along with the ability to schedule and execute tasks of a repetitive nature on a recurring basis.
- Time management, conflict resolution and negotiation skills are required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
