- Develop robust technical solutions from concept through production
- Conduct appropriate engineering analysis and select materials
- Work with designers to develop high quality drawings
- Perform tolerance stack-ups on new design and product changes
- Set direction with vendors and tool room to build prototypes
- Work with layout inspector to verify prototypes; meet design intent
- Write test reports to include conclusions and recommendations
- Establish test criteria for design validation and knowledge building sub-system test
- Maintain open issues list during development; supervise running of test
- Prepare engineering documentation including but not limited to DFEMA, DVP&R, drawings and design assumptions
- Formally release all product requirements into the Webasto change management system
