**SUMMARY OF POSITION**:
Buyer is responsible for source selection and procurement functions directly associated with the Company's needs
for indirect materials and services, fixed assets, and tooling, and select production materials and services. These
products and services are to be secured at cost quality, anddelivery competitive levels consistent with Techniplas
policy and performance standards. The position is further responsible for the timely planning, scheduling of receipt
and inventory control of the products and services as assigned consistent with requirements.
**JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and
responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
Determines proper quantities of materials (resins, inserts, packaging etc.) and establishes deliveries
to meet the production schedule, using MRP, machine run time, and knowledge ofother relevant facts.

Keeps Schedulers apprised of material availability problems through daily contact and attending
production scheduling meetings.
**Works to establish appropriate planning parameters, such as**:
1. Lot sizes
2. Minimum order quantities
3. Lead times
4. Vendor
5. Re-order points
6. Purchasing/Vendor notes
Maintains reasonable level of inventories, economical to supply parameters and production
schedules.
Monitors parts at outside vendors. Obtain inventory counts from outside vendors.
Works with material warehouse team members to assure accurate inventory counts andreceiving
processes.
Establishes and monitors inventory processes, including Kanbans, VMI, Pull/Lean and Consignment
programs with vendors. Monitors inventory value and continually work to reduce
levels without interrupting service to the plant
Participates in all functions of year-end inventory.

Makes recommendations to management regarding vendor performance.
Contributes to the development & implementation of planning & acquisition processes as well aspurchasing
req's, purchases, & procedures.
Interacts with external & internal customers regarding requests, prices, orders, delivery &related
aspects.
Works on appropriate teams & projects as they develop.
Works closely with appropriate teams, in the development and engagement of sourcing
strategies.
Comply with the SGC documents.
Participate in the fulfillment of internal audits and corrective and preventive actions.
Support the continuous improvement of its activities.
Comply with the requirements of the SGC, and participate in improvement projects towards respect for the
environment.
Know objectives and goals of the SGC.
Know significant environmental aspects
Minimum Bachelors Degree in production operations management or related coursework, from4-year
college or university with at least 3 years of related experience (i.e. purchasing, customer service or
production scheduling); or 3 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of
education and experience. APICS certification strongly preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (at all levels both internally and externally). Ability to
read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures,
contracts or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure
manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respondto questions from groups of managers,
clients, customers, and the general public.
Demonstrates a professional and mature demeanor at all times, working in a positive and professional
manner with internal/external contacts. Ability to deal with people in a patient andpositive manner.
Self-starter, with a highly developed sense of urgency and self-motivation to work independentlywith
limited supervision.
Detail oriented accuracy in work and good follow-up skills.
Excellent attendance and reliability.
Working knowledge of PC software including Excel and Word. BPCS experience preferred.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers,clients,
and other employees of the organization.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, rebates, proportions, and
percentages.
