**Function**:Supply Management / Logistics

- Manages the entire packaging process including packaging design, physical return of containers and project management to ensure warehousing and logistics needs as well as customer satisfaction. Drives cost reduction and develops process improvements.
- Manages and successfully delivers projects relative to global logistics processes and activities. Utilizes and provides project management expertise to determine work assignments involving the work team, logistics providers, outside suppliers and factory/marketing units. Aligns technology, order fulfillment, supply management and global sourcing strategies to implement global logistics process improvement within Enterprise and Division logistics strategies.

**What Skills You Need**:

- Develops and implements continuous packaging solutions and maintains compliance with packaging standards and integrates processes and procedures throughout the division.
- Ensures compliance with export/import restrictions, packaging and labeling guidelines and maintaining and updating packaging standards as well as labeling standards as necessary. Interacts closely with manufacturing throughout the PDP process. Generates global operating procedures for labeling, movement, repair, and tracking of reusable containers and packaging material in order to improve efficiency by standardizing operational activities.
- Provides daily support and manages all inquires and problems related to packaging and labeling by determining corrective action to find solutions that reduce product damage, optimize warehouse space, facilitate shipment of product and improve customer relations through the enhanced image of the product.
- Negotiates and manages enterprise contracts with major third party suppliers of packaging goods and services in order to leverage enterprise volumes and achieve cost levels that provide a competitive advantage to John Deere.
- Provides project management for design and acquisition of all returnable packaging to support new product introductions and existing products.
- Cooperates with and assists teams and Managers of Logistics Operations in planning global material packaging and flow schemes that support enterprise order fulfillment and global sourcing objectives.

**Education**:

- Degree in an Engineering/Technology discipline or equivalent experience. University Degree (4 years or equivalent).
