Job Summary
- To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a _Commodity Manager_ located in Guadalajara, North Campus._
- Reporting to the Commodity Director, Commodity Manager role involves being responsible for supporting the development, implementation and management of global strategies to provide Flex segments and business groups with optimal supply assurance, pricing, flexibility, quality and delivery performance (focus on Mechanical commodities). Working closely with the Supply Chain team / Local Management, the Commodity Manager will communicate and implement strategies, contracts and pricing to all regions with an overall focus on maintaining good supplier relationships and costs to a minimum to achieve maximum advantage for the company and its customers._

What a typical day looks like:

- _ Establish and manage long term strategic and core supplier relationships and will engage with Flex sites and business segments_
- _ Guide the selection, development and management of Core and Strategic Suppliers to meet commodity costs and performance goals_
- _ Organize and manage the commodity team with a focus on talent acquisition, retention and development and performance appraisal._
- _ Implement programs for supplier selection, supplier performance management and supply base optimization_
- _ Provide Quotation centers with support from core and strategic suppliers to obtain competitive and timely quotes_
- _ Monitor current commodity market conditions, technology roadmaps and identify supply/demand challenges. Develop, implement and communicate tactical and strategic commodity plans internally and to Flex customers as appropriate_
- _ Collaborate with Customer Supply Chain Managers and Product Introduction centers to coordinate sourcing strategies and ensure a smooth and timely manufacturing ramp on new programs_
- _ Provide access to leading technology, product roadmaps, technology strategies and industry trends._
- _ Provide point of escalation for Commodity issues as appropriate._
- _ Implement appropriate HR strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce._

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

- _BA/BS or equivalent work experience._
- _Previous experience on Mechanical commodities: die casting, sheet metal, hard and soft tooling._
- _Advanced english_
- _Extensive knowledge in mechanical fabrication processes (punching, bending, stamping, welding, insertion, painting, powder coating, metal surface treatments and mechanical assembly)._
- _Strong experience within the metal-mechanic industry (3D data, drawing interpretation, tolerances, etc.)_
- _Extensive knowledge in specifications and standards related to metals._
- _Knowledge in creating, reading and improving Bill of Materials (BOMs)._
- _Knowledge in specifications and standards related to metals._
- _Experience in Solidworks._
- _Advanced Microsoft Office skills: excel, project & power point._
- _Strong experience in supplier development, scouting, NPI and localization._
- _Decision maker._
- _Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions_
- _Ability to read, analyze and interpret MPI._
- _Excellent communication skills._
