**About the job**

RHI Magnesita is seeking a strategic and customer-oriented Metallurgist Specialist. This role is remote and can sit anywhere in CDMX

The Metallurgist Specialist applies their knowledge and skills to focus on the process engineering process of Steel making.

Responsibilities include assist sales in obtaining or retaining customer accounts by selecting materials and product designs based on customer’s requirements and practices, offering new and innovative products, monitoring trials, and liaising between sales, manufacturing, product management, and on-site employees.

This position will report to the Head of Linings Mexico. The Metallurgist Specialist will travel both domestically and internationally with about 80% travel time.

**The Metallurgist Specialist tasks will include**:

- Acts as an interface between Sales, on-site employees, Product Management and Management
- Customer service including on site monitoring of service trials, troubleshooting, fact finding etc.
- Create trail reporting outlining product performance, trail results and any additional recommendations
- Provide product recommendations and perform audit trails
- Selecting materials and product designs based on customer’s requirements and practices.
- Customer visits with Sales to check the performance of our products at our customer locations to ensure proper performance and treat any issues.

**About you**

Do you have:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Materials, Metallurgical, Chemical, Science degree is preferred
- Master’s Degree is a plus
- +5 Years of experience in steel or refractory industry
- +7 Years of experience understanding Steelmaking
- Working knowledge of SAP, MS Office Suite of products, and AutoCAD
- Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships
- Exceptional customer service skills both internally and externally
- Independent worker and self-starter, who contributes to the overall team objectives
- Works effectively and collaboratively, including clear written and verbal communications
- Hands on, forward thinking, and improvement/results driven
