Main Activities / Responsibilities
- Participate on new product development core teams. Responsible for manufacturing input to new product development business cases and identification and leadership of extended manufacturing team resources.
- Develop and implement economical manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
- Perform Return-On-Investment analyses of manufacturing process alternatives.
- Manage the implementation of product design and process changes through fabrication, welding, purchasing, and assembly.
- Responsible for product quality, including resolving quality problems, validating processes, developing and implementing process controls and inspection procedures.
- Work with Manufacturing Engineering on work instructions, job instructions, labor standards and routings, and line balancing to meet required production rates.
- Work with cross functional teams to develop PFMEAs, Control Plans, Capability Studies and other process qualification/validation activities.
- Responsible for ensuring manufacturing processes are compliant with all applicable regulations and Baxter quality system requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement and lean manufacturing methodologies into production through use of New Product Introduction (NPI) process tools and structured DFx analysis.
- Lead Design For Manufacturing (DFM) reviews on new products. Review product designs with R&D engineers for optimized manufacturability and ease of assembly, from raw material to finish products.
- Perform various engineering duties in support of manufacturing departments/processes.
- Ensure safety of manufacturing processes.
- Responsible for product cost at launch.
- Responsible for managing the CAPEX and manufacturing OPEX associated with New Product Introduction projects.
- Occasionally responsible for leading teams and directing the technical efforts of others.
- Position may include direct supervision of technicians.

Education
- Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline, or equivalent combination of work experience and education in a specific technical discipline.

Experience
- 5-7 years experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Operations Management.
- 3-5 years experience in a lean New Product Introduction environment.

Knowledge
- Experience with Manufacturing process engineering activities, programming, production cell design, line balancing, time studies, BOM structure, labor routing and reporting structures.
- Experience working with vendors, suppliers, and contractors.
- Ability to manage complete project cycle from concept to actual implementation.
- Bilingual English / Spanish
