**General Summary**:
The Production Manager manages and/or assists with managing various production teams and activities in the production and manufacturing floor; this may include, and it is not limited to production planning, directing and monitoring the production group to meet safety and quality standards, established specifications, schedules and volume/cost/loss targets. The Manager will be liaising with various support groups such as Engineering, Supply Chain Management (i.e., Planning), Procurement, among others; these joint efforts will be focused on developing production schedules, managing change and allocating labor/capital resources. This individual must be able implement and drive Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) across the production operations and ensure all projects are delivered in a safely manner, at the highest quality standards, while maintaining budgetary guidelines and strict deadlines.

**Essential Functions**
- Provide effective team leadership during times of change and production ramp up.
- Responsible for production activities in a manufacturing environment with the goal to develop and implement system-level/strategic solutions to optimize efficiency and resource utilization, increase safety levels, minimize costs and maintain high quality standards
- Coordinate team activities to optimize cost performance, optimizing operations and minimizing waste through the development of a continuous-improvement culture that includes Lean Six Sigma methodology, 5S and Kaizen principles to mention a few.
- Build a strong production management team, providing a balanced focus between strategic, tactical and operational activities through exceptional servant leadership; while providing a clear vision and inspiring staff to achieve excellence.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers.
- Demonstrate the ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches.
- Proactively work with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Facilities, EHS, QA, etc. incorporating best practices into the manufacturing environment.
- Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on manufacturing activities.
- Meet business objectives and productions schedules while ensuring product standards that will exceed our customer’s expectations.
- Lead manufacturing strategies and action plans to ensure that the facility supports strategic initiatives.
- Accountable for problem solving and cost reduction.
- Communicate any problems or obstacles to senior management.

**Competencies**
- Able to work independently with mínimal direction.
- Six Sigma Black Belt - Min. of 3-5 years of experience.
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Lean Six Sigma implementation experience.
- Experience with MS project or Smart Sheet for effective project management.
- Knowledge of and ability to facilitate lean manufacturing processes activities on 5S, Standard Work Instructions, 5 Why’s, TPM, TFM, Project Management, Kanban, Poke Yoke.
- Proven experience in a large-scale, high speed/high volume manufacturing environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Results oriented with ability to plan and deliver project deadlines and goals.
- Resilient, self-motivated, and able to work well under pressure.
- Team oriented, able to work with peers effectively.
- Ability to coach and mentor employees on a one-on-one basis as well as a group.
- AutoCad, Inventor and CMMS preferred.

**Supervisory Responsibility**
- Assign work to the team to ensure timely completion of the production schedule.
- Develop the team to ensure adequately trained resources are available for current and future business needs.
- Ensuring the production groups have the required tools, supplies, and training to perform their jobs.
- Provide continual feedback to your employees on performance and communicating areas for improvement.
- Improve process flow and facility layout on the manufacturing floor.
- Improve safety for all employees.
- Assists in training all site leaders and staff.
- Handles disciplinary action in accordance with company policy for direct staff.
