Supervises day-to-day aspects of booking, shipping, tracking, and billing on both import and export shipments.
- Market and current operations’ analysis, to proactively identify and implement improvements on our processes, and to prevent service failures. Customer Relationship
-Consistent and professional communications; effective, prompt and courteous communications with respect to difficult situations, relaying service failures, etc. Carrier Relationship
-Productive carrier relationship development, looks to extend our coverage, and improve negotiations, handling and managing all difficult situations, etc.
- Achieve Internal Department Goals—Secure and control appropriate use of internal high-service, fair and cost competitive services. Financial Procedures and Operating Metrics
-Detention management, research/resolving invoice discrepancies, automation objectives, expedite decisions and cost, etc.
- Pro-actively identifies and communicates issues, propose and implement solutions for continuous improvement in regard to processes, cost, service, and profitability.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with carriers through professional and timely communications, and inquiry responses.
- Ensure Capacity Specialists and Team Leaders achieve their goals and meet day to day operations’ needs.
- Source, negotiate and assign transportation providers with Procurement team that meet the financial and service expectations of Transplace.
- Monitor team’s performance.
- Secure and request automatization of rates in TMS.
- Set up new carriers with the Procurement team.
- Ensure carrier performance meets customer expectationsà Provide monthly scorecards.
- Make purchase transportation decisions with the Procurement team that positively impact Transplace profitability and/or customer costs.
- Communicate service issues to customer or TP management.
- Demonstrate ownership of assigned segments of business.
- Analyze customer and carrier data, to identify cost saving opportunities.
- Assists on onboarding processes.
- Oversee team assigned to the position and monitor service across different zones/accounts.
- Track volume and revenues on weekly basis (Scorecards).
**Basic Qualifications**
- 2 - 3 years on Logistics, and at least 1 year managing personnel
- College degree
- Negotiation skills.
- Advanced Spanish and English written, oral, and presentation communication skills.
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Advanced computer skills. Microsoft Excel
-Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel including but not limited to VLookup, Pivot Tables and advanced formulas.
- Effective analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to envision and implement new concepts/strategies.
- Simultaneous management of multiple tasks.
