Role Summary/Purpose

Ensures that products manufactured in the shop are capable and will meet specified quality standards. Understanding of manufacturing processes for analysis of non-conforming parts to identify root causes and address appropriate corrective actions. Keep communication with customers internal and external customers to track solution of non-conformities and implement effective corrective actions will prevent recurrence in the future.

Essential Responsibilities
- Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
- Ensure the plant’s production processes are executed per relevant specifications
- Analyze and create 4B for internal customers
- Own process compliance: understand applicable Quality Management System documents, perform quality audits to ensure consistent adherence to procedures and processes, and drive CARs and improvement plans to address nonconformances
- Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
- Lead investigations and analysis of quality problems in second shift, to eliminate problems at their root cause
- Prevent occurrence of Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ).
- Directs workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.
- Provide leadership as the main quality interface with Manufacturing, Engineering, Services, and other functions
- Perform statistical analysis
- Quality issue resolving through problem solving tools (8D, A3, 5WHY).
- Prepare plan and maintain certification of ISO 9001, AAR and EAC
- Continuously develop product and process knowledge, become a product and process expert

Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or 80% degree credits completed.
- Experience in Quality Assurance or similar roles.
- Fluent English with oral and written communication skills.
- Experience at least 2 years in related areas.

- Demonstrated hands-on technical problem-solving experience
- Experience testing and troubleshooting Locomotive electrical and mechanical systems
- Strong computer and data analysis skills including intermediate Excel
- Ability to influence others and lead cross-functional teams
- Ability to communicate issues effectively at all levels
- Experience with assembly, electrical, test, and welding processes, including ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Experience in a Quality, Manufacturing, or Engineering role
- Statistically literate and familiar with Six Sigma quality concepts and tools
- Knowledge of ISO/AAR standards, quality procedures, and audit technique
