This position is responsible for initiating electrical and mechanical supplier strategies, negotiating and managing supplier relationships, as well as maintaining effective costs in a complex bill of materials structured environment.

**Main activities and responsibilities**
- To develop a commodity strategy to meet the needs of the business, negotiate commodity supply contracts with Mechanical, Electronic and Packaging Vendors, including payment terms, master service agreements and vendor management programs.
- To work with Technical Development Teams, Quality and Operations to ensure commodity sourcing supports new product introductions and component substitutions. Monitoring all customized parts, FAIR approval in an efficient manner to support production requirements.
- Evaluate suitability and stability of current and potential suppliers globally, regarding risk mitigation, landed costs, capacity, geographical regionalization, and assurance of supply connectivity with quality parts.
- Identify opportunities to leverage existing supplier relationships, obtain price/cost reductions, rationalize/consolidate the supply base, secure favorable long-term agreements, maintain alternate supplier options, and support long-term supplier relationships.
- Launch / Maintain all supplier programs in VMI, Consignment, or EDI programs with long lead times and important suppliers, especially in critical transformers, semiconductors and major mechanical casting, wires and metals.
- Lead global commodity teams in North America and Asia in aggressive cost negotiation. Responsible for Purchase Price Variance globally.
- Work with Quality department resolving quality issues including corrective and preventative actions, recovery plans, and alternate bridge plans.

Responsible for supplier scorecard including delivery performance, quality performance, cost and other performance criteria. Review and work with critical suppliers in quarterly QBR updates to improve supplier performance and forecast future needs.

Capability to support multiple manufacturing sites around the world and map the most economical and effective supplier base, especially in any parts where tooling is required.
