ElringKlinger is a global leader in automotive manufacturing with 45 locations worldwide. ElringKlinger is looking for an Environmental, Health and Safety Officer to join our newest location in San Antonio, TX.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

- Consulting for managers and plant management on all questions concerning the safety-related design of workplaces, work processes and the use of work equipment as well as hazardous substances
- Designing and planning of safety training based on the risk assessments and safety instructions as well as support of the managers in their implementation
- Supporting managers in the preparation of risk assessments
- Responsible for the implementation and maintaining of a system to perform and monitor of legal required health & safety trainings
- Safety assessments of all plant equipment, (new) machines and systems within production area
- Responsible for monitoring legal compliance with health and safety legislation throughout the plant by planning and carrying out site inspections including documentation
- Analysising of health and safety incidents including the necessary reporting to plant management and managers, as well as definition and monitoring of corrective actions and the lessons learned process
- Interface between plant and authorities to comply with legal requirements regarding health & safety

Minimum Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in industrial hygiene, safety studies, environmental sciences, engineering or related experience or 2 or more years EHS experience in a manufacturing or like environment.
- 3+ years safety and environmental experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient in Microsoft (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
- OSHA 30 certification required
- DOT/RCRA preferred
