**THE WORK**
Our ideal Senior Staff Agile Coach is a solid Agile practitioner who can teach, facilitate, mentor, and coach individuals and teams within—and occasionally beyond—our Product and Technology organization. Through their diligent study, hands-on experience, and mentee experience, they have developed enough unconscious competence that they are effectively framework-agnostic and can draw from many different frameworks and thought leaders. Lacking formal authority in most contexts, the Senior Staff Agile Coach leverages their extraordinary communication skills and psychosocial/emotional maturity to build relationships and inspire high performance.
- The Senior Staff Agile Coach demonstrably helps teams continuously improve their terminology, tools, processes, structure, and culture to create a joyful, ethical, and high-performance environment.
- Support teams and value streams in developing a Lean/Agile mindset, including deep respect for people and teams, continuous improvement, economic decision-making, small batches, shortest possible lead times, maintaining quality at appropriately high levels, and minimizing waste.
- Facilitate various events within and beyond their teams, creating an environment of openness, safety, and innovation as well as supporting others in their growth as facilitators.
- Create an environment of accountability and attention to results within their teams. Allow the team to remain responsible and leave enforcement of accountability to the team’s leadership.
- Coach individuals and teams with a thoughtful and creative process that helps them realize their highest potential while honoring and leveraging their inherent creativity, resourcefulness, and wholeness.
- Mentor less experienced individuals and teams in a number of related domains, giving feedback without excessive emotional overtone or judgment.
- Teach and train individuals and teams in Agile/Lean concepts using modern pedagogical techniques. Deliver or co-deliver Agile Fundamentals courses based on CSM/PSM-I/ICP core learning objectives. Partner with an Enterprise Coach to identify and capitalize on learning opportunities by developing and delivering new curriculum as new topics arise.
- Manage their own engagement with their teams and value-stream by co-creating inspiring goals and designing alliances between coach and coaches.
- Model servant leadership, caring deeply for the growth of those that they support and creating fellow leaders, not followers.
- Support teams in their development as complex human systems by championing for diversity/equity/inclusion, psychological safety, and constructive conflict resolution.
- Accurately assess the health of their teams using new or established frameworks and continuously adapt their teaching, facilitation, mentoring, and coaching accordingly.
- Organize and facilitate the launch of new teams, resulting in “good starts” with a team vision aligned to the value stream and organization’s objectives and key results.
- Support their Product Owners with the creation and refinement of their product vision and goals, as well the translation of those goals into a healthy product backlog using techniques such as user story mapping, innovation games, product data analysis, etc.
- Support the broader organization in its Agile adoption, help non-technical people understand complex Agile delivery, and facilitate continuous improvement in the organization in partnership with other coaches to increase the effectiveness of teams.
- Maintains the strictest of confidence (except as required by anti-harassment and similar policies), does not gossip or spread rumors, and is able to work in an environment where they may encounter PHI / PII data and similarly confidential information.
- May be assigned other duties.
- Must maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
**NEEDED EXPERTISE**
- At least ten years of total experience as a leader (Product Owner, Engineering Manager, etc) within software development organizations, preferably in the healthcare industry, including a minimum of five years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile
