The Customs Clerk (PARS) is responsible for reviewing and processing Customs documentation for Canada Border basic releases and confirmations. The person in this role must always ensure timely and accurate execution of their work, while abiding by Company policies and procedures. This role includes providing support, and cross training in a fast paced, high call volume office environment and will assist in completing operational and data entry tasks as necessary.

**Job Duties**
- Establish work schedules, procedures and coordinate activities with drivers, shipping, receiving, and accounting.
- Scheduling and proactively dispatching/supervising a fleet of drivers (local/line haul/owner operators), trucks and trailers by coordinating with other dispatchers.
- Direct the pickup and delivery activities.
- Organize and prepare all customs and commercial invoices for cross-border traffic through Avaal Electronic Manifest (PAPS/PARS).
- Planning and coordinating inbound/outbound shipments (LTL and FTL) in an optimal manner within specifically assigned territories over Canada and USA.
- Bidding online according to company’s budget to ensure that targets for rate/payloads are achievable.
- Advise personnel about traffic problems such as construction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions, and other hazards
- Monitor personnel and/or equipment locations and utilization to coordinate service and schedules.
- Manage a real-time transportation database reflecting rates, equipment, origin/destination pairs, fuel surcharges, carrier insurance, etc.
- Adhere to corporate and departmental policies and procedures
- Performs other duties as required

**Requirements**:

- College program in logistics or equivalent business-related experience preferred.
- Transportation industry knowledge and experience an asset (i.e., shipping/receiving, scheduling, freight negotiations and regulatory requirements)
- Bilingual (fluent in a second language) an asset.
- Experience with Fleet Manager, and Avaal Software are a major asset.
- Customs knowledge (PAPS/PARS) and experience an asset
- Sound computer skills - Outlook, Excel, Word.

**Salary**: From $4,000.00 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Apodaca, N. L.: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Experience**:

- PARS/PAPS: 1 year (preferred)
