**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
**Position Summary**:
This position is responsible for enforcing the Quality Management Program for Procurement (QMPP) for BCVS Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) direct material suppliers and BCVS supplier quality requirements for buy-sell aftermarket and legacy and drive their development as required to meet supplier related Goal Tree KPI’s.

**Essential Functions**:

- Lead and strategize SDE/SQD team to achieve supplier quality metrics (Goal Tree KPI’s) objectives via continuous improvement of the direct material supply base commodities assigned.
- Oversee supplier evaluation (quality minimums) processes.
- Manage release of supplier approval to appropriate Quality Management System (QMS) in SAP.
- Manage and strategize team’s classifications of PAVE (Predictive Approach to Vendor Escalation) suppliers’ status
- Assure suppliers are held responsible to the Quality Management Program for Procurement (QMPP) and Bendix Supplier Business Manual.
- Manage team decision of supplier disputes
- Manage Supplier Improvement Plan (SIP)
- Manage Supplier Development Projects (SDP)
- Participate and lead supplier audits as required - VDA process, Product Safety, walk the control plan, etc.
- Manage the team’s accountability for the flow down of product safety related requirements and characteristics to suppliers. Accountable to assure proper controls are in place at the supplier.
- As required, maintain, create, and improve IATF 16949 related procedures and work instructions to comply with direct material supplier clauses found in sections 8, 9, and 10 for all BCVS locations as a central supplier quality function.
- Manage team compliance to Bendix supplier quality governances such as DMI+ Governance, 8D (Prism) Governance, MCR Governance, etc. and Bendix organizational initiatives such as Quality Imperative and Customer Specific Requirements.
- Partner with Global SDE teams in all SfN locations to harmonize global processes wherever feasible and with CoC and central functions like SBM to drive supplier excellence (and Q-First initiatives) from our suppliers.

**Knowledge**:

- Excellent knowledge of IS9000:2000 and IATF 16949 standards.
- Excellent knowledge of Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) modules including PPAP, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA), Advanced Quality Planning & Control Plan (APQP).
- Excellent knowledge of audit methodologies, i.e., VDA process audits, walk the control plan, product audits, etc.
- Advanced quality field knowledge of a broad range of areas is needed - i.e., Cost of Poor Quality, Quality Management Systems ISO9000:2000 versus TS16949 versus AS9100, Statistical Process Control, Six Sigma, etc.
- Excellent knowledge of the IATF 16949 standards is needed.
- SAP / Hana reporting knowledge a plus.

**Experience**:

- Minimum of 5 years total experience in the field of Quality, 7 preferred, including a minimum of 3 years in Quality Management required.
- Automotive Quality Systems experience particularly in the AIAG modules, MSA, PPAP, APQP, SPC, and FMEA.

**Education**:

- Bachelor of Engineering or Industrial Engineering or Business Management Engineering
- Master's degree preferred
- Green Belt certification preferred, Black Belt a plus
