Accounting Generalist

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

Satellite Teams is in search of an Accounting Generalist who will be part of an operating team handling multiple accounting transactions primarily in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. The Accounting Generalist will be working directly with the Controller to process receivables and payables in an apparel import firm selling to retail and DTC customers.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- **Accounts Receivable**_
- Post all daily cash receipts
- Process all credit card payments for house accounts
- Reconcile and match daily batches processed from ERP system
- Monitor customer chargebacks and deductions and file claims when applicable
- Identify delinquent accounts and insufficient payments by working closely with factor
- Process customer credit/debit memos
- Reconcile transactions with statements.
- Prepare weekly AR aging report and review status with the Controller
- Assist Controller with special projects as needed
- **Accounts Payable**_
- Set up new vendors in Full Circle for approval by the Controller
- Review vendor invoices for accuracy, obtain approval from the appropriate person, and enter into the ERP system
- Perform three-way match for all inventory related invoices
- Calculate and post monthly sales rep commissions
- Reconcile vendor statements
- Prepare weekly AP aging report and review with the Controller
- Record ACH, Wire and check payments
- Prepare year-end IRS form 1099 to be issued to vendors
- Communicate and follow up with vendors regarding setup and inquiries
- Complete other projects and tasks assigned by accounting management

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Has a Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 5+ years of work experience in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
- Experience working with factors and chargebacks
- Experience with major retail chain stores
- Experience using **Full Circle **Software is preferred
- Working for a US apparel or manufacturing company or equivalent
- Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
- Experience with general ledger functions
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
- Excellent English communication skills
