- Failure Analysis Technician:
- Primary Responsibilities: The primary responsibility of the Failure Analysis Technician is to support Semiconductor physical failure analysis activities in the laboratory by execution of Microscopic inspections and related sample preparation. Other primary tasks will include supporting bench soldering and parametric electrical (I/V) bench testing of electronics components and assemblies. The primary skills and attributes of a successful Failure Analysis technician is listed below.- Visual Inspection imaging using optical microscopes and cameras.
- X-ray microscope tool operation and usage; where 2D/3D CT imaging experience desired.
- C-SAM microscope operation and usage.
- I/V bench measurements including usage of curve tracer and standard (AC/DC) benchtop parametric test equipment.
- Soldering/de-soldering of electronic assemblies.
- Electronic component De-capsulation (mechanical, laser, Plasma and/or chemical).
- Mechanical cross section and parallel lapping/polishing.
- Chemical or wet etching methods.
- Dry (Plasma and io milling) sample preparation methods.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Job Requirements- Associates in Engineering and/or Science discipline or related learning experience.
- Understanding of semiconductor principles and process highly desired.
- Previous experience working in a semiconductor failure analysis lab beneficial.
- Must possess excellent skills in problem solving, teamwork, and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communications.
- Capable of taking direction from multiple individuals, documenting findings, and executing tasks independently.
