Under general supervision, an Applied Fluids Optimization (AFO) Monitoring Specialist performs as technical advisor to the operator, who can be used in complicated and difficult drilling situations on location or onshore to provide recommendations to optimize the drilling operation based upon the analysis and interpretation of all relevant information sources, or work on specific projects as required. Ensures optimization data is properly and accurately collected and documented, including possible problems, and communicated as necessary internally and to the customer. Provides analysis for the Optimization disciplines of Hydraulics Management and Wellbore Integrity or additional disciplines not yet defined. Uses and interprets data to assist in the identification of and planning solutions for complicated engineering problems, and to make professional, and safe drilling recommendations to the customer during the course of the well. Performs any other specialized analysis or gathers any additional data as required by the customer. Presents complete, detailed, accurate and professional reports to the customer as required. Is capable of delivering presentations internally and to the customer on project results and on the Optimization services disciplines utilized. Assembles Optimization data into Optimization logs following established and/or customer guidelines. Maintains an updated standard well summary file during the well to assist in writing the end-of-well report. Is responsible for completion of the end-of-well report which will be completed and ready for customer delivery within two weeks of the end of the drilling operation. Provides recommendations pertinent to the safe and cost-effective drilling of future wells included on the end-of-well report. Documents and properly briefs relief personnel of all activities related to the execution of the job while relief was absent. Performs in such a way as to obtain repeat business. High school diploma required, completion of an undergraduate degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Science, Geoscience or other technical discipline preferred, to include a minimum of 3 years industry experience that includes a minimum of 2 years surface data logging or fluids wellsite experience or 5 years of surface data logging or fluids wellsite experience. Must have successfully passed company tests or met task guideline requirements.
