**_This position is based in the Monterrey plant._**

**Summary**
- The Food Safety Coordinator leads the Food Safety sub-department locally of the Quality Assurance function, defines and communicates the corporate Food Safety strategy and coordinates implementation and follow-up on total Food Safety activity to ensure that the organization’s products and services conform to technical specifications, performs reliably, meet internal and external safety expectations and comply with all relevant standards, regulations, licenses, and certifications.**Accountabilities**
- Provide scientific and technical food safety and microbiological support to the site to ensure product safety and quality, through risk assessment, program development and training.
- Coordinate, plan, and implement quality, food safety, and sanitation programs for the facility. Identify and communicate food safety risks to the site, give actionable advice on Food Safety programs and incorporate into programs.
- Be responsible for the validation of Critical Control Points related to heat kill steps (Cooking, roasting, etc) and assess the validity of data. Liaise externally to ensure the most relevant information and emerging issues are identified and incorporated in food safety programs. Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop the facility leadership team to ensure quality & food safety compliance and have the authority to suspend operations when serious quality & food safety risks are identified.
- Be accountable for HACCP & food safety training for the corporate functions, regional functions or facility to ensure compliance and execution of required programs.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor in Microbiology, Food Safety, Food Science or similar
- 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance and/or Food Safety in a FMCG environment
- Experience in food industry auditing - GFSI practitioner or certified auditor preferred
- Previous HACCP certification program design and implementation are required
- Experience in Project Management and Leadership
- Knowledgable in MS Office Suite
- Knowledge of HACCP, ISO, GMP, Pathogen Environmental Monitoring and Facility/Equipment Design
- Advanced English - Fluent
