About the Opportunity:
Ellucian is seeking an ambitious, energetic Associate Project Manager (APM) to make a difference and shape the line of business in a growing global organization. The APM will report to the Professional Services, Sr. Director of Delivery Excellence and will be responsible for the initiation, implementation and completion of small work orders and other projects as assigned from the field delivery leadership: The APM's responsibility is to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, while meeting or exceeding stakeholder expectations while maintaining high level of utilization for billable customer work. The APM’s also are responsible for adherence to the standard delivery practice as defined by Global Services PMO delivery standards and finding opportunities to further streamline these practices.
We are looking for experienced professionals with the ability to successfully drive projects to completion while managing the right balance of process without over-burdening the entrepreneurial spirit of the company.
**Where you will make an impact**
- Drive project definition and iterate until projects are defined to support the business case and desired business value.
- Manage all aspects of multiple, customer projects from concept (business case) through delivery.
- Develop the project's key objectives and scope, and communicate them effectively across the project team.
- Plan, schedule, and track project deliverables and milestones using Microsoft Project (MSP)
- Assist with developing and managing the business line's project portfolio and assisting with prioritization.
- Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
- Manage project resources from other groups, in a matrixed environment, who are fulfilling roles in your projects.
- Proactively manage project issues and risks.
- Incorporate change management as a key element for each project.
- Ensure projects are delivered on-time/on budget and exceed stakeholders' expectations.
- Lead projects from beginning to end, from project inception through delivery.
- Provide thought leadership to further develop and maintain PMO templates, processes, and programs.
- Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to professional growth in program/project management and other key areas.
- Promote project management practices across the department.
**What you will bring**
- 3+ years related work experience in a company or department with a heavy emphasis on technology.
- 2+ years direct work experience in a project management capacity.
- Must be creative, relationship management, and teamwork focused.
- Has successfully managed multiple projects in a matrixed environment with strong influencing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with the business line to craft solutions.
- Experience in managing a broad range of technology projects and demonstrated learning agility.
- Familiarity with project management software, such as Smartsheet, Excel, SharePoint, and MS Office.
- Ability to ascertain communication styles of team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
