Job Description:
Sr Data Engineer

You are a hands-on developer and enjoy working on projects and handling large amounts of data. You have experience working on database design and development, data integration and ingestion, designing and building ELT/ETL processes using a variety of tools and techniques. You are someone with a drive to implement the best possible technical solutions while partnering with the functional & support teams to assure collaboration and alignment. Work with team members, partnering to model appropriate data landscapes, obtain data extracts and define secure data exchange approaches working with both onshore and offshore resources.

In this hands-on development position, you will:

- Plan and execute secure, good practice data integration strategies and approaches
- Acquire, ingest, and process data from multiple sources and systems
- Create and manage data environments in the Cloud
- Create and maintain documentation on data flows
- Involved in end-to-end data management bringing a desire to help move forward in best practices
- Estimate development efforts for operational and project initiatives.
- Collaborate with other teams to map data fields to hypotheses and curate, wrangle, and prepare data for use in advanced analytical models
- Monitor and troubleshoot problems with existing workflows

Qualifications:

- 1+ years working on projects within the AWS cloud and familiar with common AWS services such as S3, Lambda, SNS, Data Pipeline, etc.
- 3+ years data warehousing experience with cloud databases like Snowflake, Azure DW, or Redshift
- 5+ years building operational ETL data pipelines across several sources, and constructing relational and dimensional data models
- 3+ years’ experience in SQL
- 2+ years’ experience in Python
- 2+ years’ experience working with data from an ERP such as Oracle E-Business Suite and/or SAP Business Systems
- 5+ years’ experience working with data warehousing and reporting technologies such as Informatica, PowerBI, OBIEE and/or Noetix Views
- Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Must be a self-starter and ability to work independently
- Familiar with data modeling, and architecting cloud solutions
- Strong interpersonal skills - clear & timely communications, positive problem-solving perspectives
- Excel in team collaboration and working with others from diverse skill sets and backgrounds
- A deep personal motivation to always produce outstanding work

**Responsibilities**:

- Building and managing end-to-end data pipelines and operations from ingestion and integration through delivery for the data products
- Design, code and maintain new and existing complex SQL stored procedures and functions within Snowflake
- Performance tune existing stored procedures and SnowSQL scripts
- Diagnosing and resolving bugs
- Design, develop, and test moderate to complex ELT/CDC processes using a variety of tools
- Produce and maintain accurate project documentation for moderate to complex ETL processes
- Design, develop & test database views and stored procedures to improve performance in Snowflake in support of PowerBI users
- Size and scope development needs for both operation and project initiatives
- Support existing end-to-end data pipelines (150+) and operations from ingestion and integration through delivery of data daily
- Plan and execute secure, good practice data integration strategies and approaches
- Data mart development
- Provide support to any pipeline, ELT, CDC issues throughout nightly runs for data extractions and updates
- Create associated documentation with work as well as keep existing documentation updated
- Collaborate with other teams to map data fields to hypotheses and curate, wrangle and prepare data for use in advanced analytics models
- Involved in end-to-end data management bringing a desire to help move forward in best practices
- Other tasks assigned by supervisor
