**DESCRIPTION**:
Are you an experienced DBA with a passion for supporting and developing Microsoft SQL Server? Are you skilled in both on-premises and cloud-based environments, including AWS and Azure? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join EPAM as a
**Senior Azure SQL DBA.**

As a Senior Azure SQL DBA, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our database infrastructure. Your expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, both on-premises and in the public cloud, will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of our systems and the delivery of high-quality services to our clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Creating and implementing effective resolution steps to address problems and improve system performance
- Documenting the resolution steps in order to develop comprehensive runbooks and enhance the knowledge base for future reference
- Monitoring and managing storage capacity within the cluster, and assisting in capacity planning to support future project goals
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting production issues as they arise, ensuring prompt resolution to minimize downtime

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Familiarity with SQL Azure and experience working with it
- Proficiency in managing and configuring Always On Availability groups and cluster features
- Strong analytical skills that enable you to identify effective approaches to solve business challenges
- Understanding of database best practices, and the ability to advocate for and implement those practices within the organization

NICE TO HAVE
- Experience with writing and optimizing SQL queries
- Prior experience with on-call support
- Datadog or similar monitoring tool (splunk, Kibana)
- PowerShell scripting (related to SQL DB or Windows Server)
