Acts as a work and thought leader, providing guidance and training to buyers and associate buyers within department. Oversees purchasing' cost control and sourcing activities. Assists buyers with developing sourcing strategies, conducting major negotiations, and non-routine activities. Oversees assigned commodities and special projects.

Contributes to building brand value and achieving enduring profitable growth.

This position will work directly with APO for the management and follow up for all items related to suppliers, projects, current programs and Sourcing.

Will also work with SCM in the identification and implementation of supplier capacity needs.

Track and analyze benchmark activities with the APO Logistics team members.

Work to validate and justify optimal prices.

Work with SCM to ensure tracking and Implementation of Technical ideas.

Purchasing objectives and KPI´s closure and follow up

Able to work independently and without minimum daily supervision.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Strong negotiation with Supplier. Fully understanding on NMEX Purchasing

Procedures and Policies.

Develops analytical techniques for buyer use in areas such as quote review, bundling analysis and sourcing recommendations. Helps to resolve all major issues and problems dealing with quality, cost, delivery and design issues involving multiple parties.

Provides buyer guidance in the preparation of all formal documents. This includes sourcing recommendations, cost adjustment recommendations, progress reports and any other reports and documents of a formal nature. Assists buyers with complex and controversial price negotiations.

Provides sourcing of new operation coordinates and reports on all aspects of the parts program with suppliers, internal client and other departments. Implements and monitors procedures to ensure compliance with approved sourcing plan and budget guidelines.

Performs daily administrative tasks by maintaining and updating various databases related to purchasing functions. Oversees the daily activities of supplier purchasing issues for cost, quality development and delivery for Mexico plants. Identifies and resolves supplier issues related to price, supply, quality and delivery.

Plans, develops, implements and maintains cost reduction plans in support of the department's cost reduction goals. Implements the Nissan program with suppliers.

As necessary, performs other related duties of which the above are representative.

**Education**:
Bachelor’s or Master in Engineering or Business.

**Previous work experience**:
Minimum five years of related experience at a professional level.

Experience in the Manufacturing Industry (Automotive is a plus).

Purchasing dedicated.

**Required knowledge**:
Commodity and market knowledge. Commercial and legal regulations knowledge.

**Language**:
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills. Fully bilingual.

**Computer skills**:
SAP/ Zycus/ Tableau/ Outlook/ Excel (Windows)

**Competencies**:
Good skills for presentations with top management levels.

Good oral and written communication skills; interpersonal; negotiation and cost and logistics process analysis skills.

**Travel**:
Approximately 30% day and overnight travel.
