SUMMARY
Lead the Direct Fulfillment team in operating with a high level of efficiency, integrity, and enthusiasm, striving to achieve excellence in all endeavors. Be a creative and proactive leader of the management team, focused on continuous improvement. Anticipate, plan and prepare for the seamless and efficient introduction of new products. Assist the DF Operations Manager with all efforts to increase shareholder value. Provide exceptional support to customers, team members, and shareholders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruitment and Retention:
q Coach DF Asst. Manufacturing Managers and NPI team members in the interviewing/hiring process.
q Monitor team member turnover; identify key factors that can be improved; make improvements.
Employee and Team Development:
q Identify individual and team strengths and development needs on an ongoing basis.
q Create, implement and/or validate training curriculum in areas of responsibility.
q Coach and mentor NPI and Operations team members to deliver excellence to every internal and external customer.
q Create and manage succession plans for the NPI and Operations teams.
Performance Management:
q Establish clear measurable goals and objectives by which to determine individual and team results (i.e. operational metrics, results against project timelines, training documentation, attendance records, knowledge of operational roles and responsibilities, personal development goals).
q Solicit ongoing feedback from NPI team, customers, and DF Asst. Manufacturing Managers on the NPI Team’s contribution to the operation. Provide ongoing coaching and counseling to NPI team based on the feedback.
q Express pride in staff and encourage them to feel good about their accomplishments.
q Perform team member evaluations professionally and on time.
q Drive individuals and the team to continuously improve in key operational metrics and the achievement of the organizational goals.
q Coordinate activities of Direct Fulfillment team and keep them focused in times of crises.
q Ensure recognition and rewards are managed fairly and consistently in area of responsibility.
q Ensure positive feedback from the customer via regular Customer Service Index (CSI) and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) on the performance of the Direct Fulfillment Organization.
Communication:
q Provide communication forum for the exchange of ideas and information with the department.
q Organize verbal and written ideas clearly and use an appropriate business style.
q Ask questions; encourage input from team members.
q Assess communication style of individual team members and adapt own communication style accordingly.
FUNCTIONAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Strategy and Direction:
q Know and understand the campus and customer strategic directions.
q Define, develop and implement a NPI Direct Fulfillment strategy which contributes to the campus strategic directions.
q Provide regular updates to DF Asst. Manufacturing Managers, functional groups and DF Operations Manager on the execution of the strategy for new products introduction.
q Assist in the development and execution of the overall Direct Fulfillment strategy.
Cost Management:
q Identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems (i.e. modification of responsibilities or consolidation of tasks, elimination of non-value-added processes, or complete re-engineering of processes and systems).
q Utilize tools to monitor departmental cost and cost trends, striving continuously to improve value.
q Provide feedback to peers and DF Operations Manager on cost and cost trends.
Forecast Development and Accuracy:
q Provide forecast and workcell statement variance analysis information to the DF Operations manager.
q Compare forward forecast results to historical actual results for trend assessment and analysis.
TECHNICAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
q Drive continuous improvement through trend reporting analysis and metrics management.
q Assess the adequacy of data gathering methods utilized by the workcells.
q Assure that procedures and work instructions are efficient and not redundant.
