What is this role?_**

As a Senior Product Designer on the buyer engagement team, you will design experiences that encourage Etsy buyers to return to shop for everything from their evergreen interests to items that complement their current shopping mission. You will collaborate with a team of cross-functional partners in engineering, research, data analytics, and product management. We will look to you to share your deep knowledge of native app design and UX patterns, and bring a tried and tested set of processes to design solutions to a range of customer problems to introduce 89 million active buyers to the breadth and depth of Etsy’s global marketplace.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Senior Product Design Manager. This role requires your presence in Etsy’s Mexico City office in an in-person or flex capacity. Learn more about our Flex and Office-based work modes as well as vaccination policy here.

**What’s this team like at Etsy?**

We craft top notch buyer experiences by testing new ways to help buyers deepen their relationship and engage more with Etsy over time, while improving our topline company health metrics via iterative experimentation and programs to reward buyer loyalty.

You will set design strategy and priorities on your team to evolve the experience to grow buyers’ visit and purchase frequency in our iOS and Android apps. You’ll also collaborate with app designers across product teams to help unify the work to ensure it aligns with our overall vision.

**What does the day to day look like?**
- Discovering insights, opportunities, and requirements
- Testing prototypes and hypotheses with users to collect feedback
- Launching experiments and evaluating how they perform and how to iterate
- Sharing your work to peers and leadership, asynchronously and in-person
- Taking part in weekly design critiques, workshops, all hands and squad meetings
- Thinking and writing about your process and documenting your decisions
- Of course, this is just a sample of the kinds of work this role will require You should assume that your role will encompass other tasks, too, and that your job duties and responsibilities may change from time to time at Etsy's discretion, or otherwise applicable with local law

**Qualifications**:
**Senior level at Etsy means**:

- You can run independently or give direction to designers within your team
- You can lead workshops and effectively align the group around a vision and approach
- You have a track record of designing complex flows and customer journeys
- You can think and design at a system level, not just interface elements or pages
- You’ll regularly make use of your soft skills: listening, negotiating, decision-making
- You’ll spend time providing mentorship to other designers
- You’ll play a key part in hiring, onboarding, and improving our team’s culture and engagement
