Powertrain and Chassis subassembly modules Design and release engineer made by supplier for Hermosillo Ford plant vehicle lines, lead or support the triage of assembly process issues and quality of components. Implement engineering changes at supplier coordinate and get funds from upper management to implement changes required by supplier.
- Written and oral communication skills.
- Understanding of automotive operations and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of vehicle systems and components' function.
- Microsoft Office management (Word, Excel and Power Point).
- English proficiency.
- A strong feeling for the customer needs and the urge to improve quality.
- Takes the initiative and finds innovative ways to solve problems and produce results.
- Capacity to deliver effective work in a team environment to solve difficult problems with a positive attitude.
- Gains cooperation, support, and commitment from coworkers without relying on formal
- Engineering Degree Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics or similar.
- Develop complete bill of Material for all chassis and powertrain modules according to version and usage per vehicle line from Hermosillo Assembly Plant.
- Keep Bill of Material updated and provide them to module supplier.
- Support build events at Module Supplier facilities and until point of use at Ford HSAP during vehicle launch and lead ongoing production.
- Lead parts sign off and verify all components used on the underbody modules meets design requirements and quantities for current production and new model launches.
- Lead validation for Chassis & Powertrain Bill of Material to validate information during current production and small new model launches.
- Lead functional trials at supplier’s facilities and Hermosillo Ford plant for all new parts.
- Lead or support technical and quality reviews with Ford D&R’s and Suppliers related to suspension or powertrain pack modules.
- Develop & Update Engineering Drawings and Assembly Illustrations when required.
- Update and create DFMEA’s, Critical Characteristics List, SCCAF and Assembly instructions and for all underbody and suspension modules.
- Review with Supplier and STA all technical documentation during PPAP process.
- Support other regions with technical information where CX programs are build.
- Support TVM initiatives for NA.
