**JOB PURPOSE**:
This is the third career level in engineering and represents a shift from learning and assisting to fully contributing in assignments of NDT (Non Destructive Testing) that are broader, more complex, and challenging in nature.

**JOB DUTIES**:
The key role of this engineering position is to move from learning and assisting others to fully contributing. At this level, the Facility NDT Coordinator begins partnering with and providing technical guidance within and between units and other teams. Projects typically range from three months to two years. Ability to gather relevant information, compare and contrast data, identify relationships, and predict and manage failures is critical. Challenges include collaborating with team members and other teams and keeping abreast of advancing technology. Decisions may affect the work group or project team, suppliers, multiple units, and both internal and external customers, and these decisions have significant impact on warranty, total cost of non-quality, customer perception, costs, sales, and the leveraging of technology; also may work in any number of functional areas requiring an engineering degree, including, but not limited to, product design, development, research, metallurgy, quality, manufacturing process, product performance/support, service, and facilities.

The NDT Coordinator is responsible for the total facility NDT Program, including writing test procedures, verification of equipment, designation of the NDT technique, conducting operator training, purchasing new equipment, evaluating NDT capability of suppliers, and initiating and investigating development projects. The NDT Coordinator will be the major NDT contact for the facility. The NDT Coordinator can delegate the administration of any of these responsibilities to other qualified personnel whenever deemed necessary but is still responsible for verifying that all operators and/or technicians are adequately trained. Establish and designate the particular test methods, techniques and procedures to be used. Authorize the use of these procedures to be used by NDT Level I and NDT Level II personnel and to be able to confirm that they are properly executed.

Be proficient at uNDTrstanding codes, standards, specifications, and procedures. Interpret and evaluate results in terms of applicable codes, standards, specifications, and procedures; also responsible for the training and examination of NDT Level I and NDT Level II personnel in the methods for which qualified, specify, acquire, and maintain appropriate NDT standard test specimens.

Key areas of responsibility encountered in this role may include any or all of the following Tasks focus to NDT: perform needs analysis and initiate ideas; evaluate new products, inspection processes, or systems; communicate results to customers, suppliers, team members, and other business units; contribute to the design of new products and processes; collaborate with and support other engineers, managers, marketing personnel, customers and suppliers, maintain technical currency in NDT, and represent the company externally.

**BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE**:

- Requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Metallurgy or Materials Science.
- Requires 3-5 years of experience in a similar position.
- Have sufficient training to meet the requirements of Level III, **certified by ASNT (American Society of Nondestructive Testing) **or its equivalent in each method used in said installation (UT, VT, MT & PT).
- Have successfully completed Tier II requirements or the equivalent in each method used at that facility with extensive experience (5 years minimum).
- Requires excellent analytical skills.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively with team members and others in the work group, as well as employees in other units, customers, and vendors.
- **Language**: Fluid English
