Research Agronomist

**Summary**

The Research Agronomist is responsible for developing and implementing a robust national product testing and demonstration program across WdM’s seed and specialty product portfolio as well as providing technical sales support to WdM distributors and their customer/growers

**Detail**

**Product research and testing**
- Develop product research strategy and workplan in collaboration with MX and U.S. business and technical leadership team to support WdM’s business strategy and growth targets.
- Design product research and testing plan to prove/validate the efficacy of WdM’s existing and experimental product portfolio including: seed (alfalfa, corn and sorghum) and specialty products (adjuvants and micronutrients)
- Liaise with U.S. technical leads as well as WdM National Sales Managers (seed and specialty products) to develop detailed product research and testing protocols
- Responsible for retaining the highest standards of data integrity in all research activities undertaken in compliance with LOL and Mexico policies and regulations
- Collaborate with National and District Sales Managers as well as the busines and technical leads from WdM’s key customer/distributor network to organize and plan product research trials in high potential geographies.
- Conduct product research trials in a range of agronomic conditions as well as versus targeted competitor products.
- Collect and analyze research data following defined protocols in collaboration with U.S. analytics teams
- Consolidate research findings into user-friendly reports and marketing materials
- Support National and District Sales Mangers and Agronomists to communicate product performance insights to distributors and growers.

**Product demonstration plots**
- Develop product sales demonstration strategy, workplan and toolkits in collaboration with MX and U.S. business and technical leadership team to support WdM’s business strategy and growth targets.
- Liaise with U.S. technical leads as well as WdM National Sales Managers (seed and specialty products) to collect, develop, communicate, and promote best practices for product sales demonstrations across WdM’s product portfolio: seed (alfalfa, corn and sorghum) and specialty products (adjuvants and micronutrients)
- Support District Sales Managers and Agronomists to plan and conduct product field demonstration plots to showcase product features and benefits (value) as well as performance vs. competitor products in a range of agronomic conditions
- Develop toolkits to help District Sales Managers and Agronomists as well as key WdM distributors to capture and communicate key insights and learnings from demonstration events to growers

**Planning and Administrative**
- Stay abreast of key industry trends
- Develop and maintain robust network with researchers, universities, industry associations, etc.
- Manage all activities within budget
- Submit expense reports accurately and on-time

**Required education and experience**:

- Bachelor’s Degree, or higher, in Agronomy or related field
- 3 more years of experience in product-related field research related to crop inputs
- Superior data and statistical analysis skills
- Bi-lingual: Spanish and English (read, write and speak)
- Demonstrated ability to maintain the highest ethical and professional standards in the undertaking of applied field research
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including development of both technical and business-friendly reports

**Preferred **education and experience**
- Master’s Degree in Agronomy or related field
- Experience with CPP and/or Seeds
