**Position Description**:
The Legal Assistant (Docket/Portfolio Specialist) role plays an integral role in the company by ensuring our clients have a full understanding of the liens we have on a case and are able to collect this payoff from our clients. The Legal Assistant (Docket/Portfolio Specialist) will report to the Manager of Servicing & Portfolio Operations and is responsible for searching state and county dockets, inputting data into internal software, monitoring and updating changes to existing cases, and communicating with law firms when appropriate. Additional servicing duties include acquiring case updates and/or reaching out to clients and insurance adjusters. Work performed will include coverage of functional and operating units, focusing on financial and operational processes. The person in this role must be extremely detail-oriented, charismatic able to think strategically and quickly while negotiating over the phone with clients.

**Responsibilities**:

- Collect information on the settlement of a case for all reduction requests and evaluate payment histories of an account to determine a solution to the request.
- Relay information regarding collections issues to the operations manager and accountant.
- Keeping cases in the portfolio and staying on top of any issues requiring monitoring.
- Provide current payoffs and liens to accounts in the portfolio.
- Maintaining working relationships with our clients.
- Obtains client case information by searching online dockets
- Sends payoff quotes
- Follows communication “scripts” when handling different topics
- Reports all collections issues promptly and inputs detailed notes
- Handles customer communications in a friendly, professional, and timely manner
- Maintains a working knowledge of the finance industry
- Interacts with internal departments
- Detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

**Qualifications**:

- Former paralegal, legal assistant, or case manager preferred
- Prior experience with personal injury lawsuits preferred
- Heavy online research and data entry experience
- Legal research experience (Lexis or Westlaw preferred)
- Familiarity with CRM systems and practices
- You must speak fluent English and Spanish.
- You must have a high-speed internet connection at your home (80 Mbps)
- Up-to-date laptop with at least 8GB RAM
- You must have a working computer system. Two computer monitors are a plus

**Compensation**:
$7.00 - $8.00 USD / Hour DOE
