Ciudad de México CDMX Diageo A tiempo completo

Job Description:
Diageo is the world’s leading premium drinks company with an outstanding collection of brands, such as Johnnie Walker, Smirnoff, Baileys, Captain Morgan, Tanqueray and Guinness. With over 200 brands in 180 countries and a global network of entrepreneurial individuals, our teams blend a diverse range of experience, knowledge and skills. We connect customers and consumers to our iconic products and create innovative experiences that bring people together to celebrate life.

Role Dimensions

Ethical behaviour (‘doing business the right way from grain to glass’) is increasingly synonymous with a company’s overall sustainability, which makes it a crucial component of corporate governance. A breakdown or reduction in focus on this component could have serious legal, financial and/or reputational consequences for Diageo. You will act as business partner to the head of the business unit or function and its executive team to help them own, drive and handle their accountabilities related to ‘doing business in the right way’. You will act as second line of defense to your market, overseeing risk indicators and potential red flags; looking for insights and root causes for breaches; as well as advising on and coordinating interventions to mitigate risks.

Top Accountabilities

Functional:

- Influence and advise senior partners to maintain a strong tone-at-the-top, and reinforce accountability and awareness of the Business Integrity agenda.
- Shape the market’s/function’s culture of integrity, which includes proactive risk identification and developing plans to effectively embed our Code and policies through tailored engagement interventions.
- Act as trusted advisor across all levels of the organisation to drive compliant behavior and provide decision support on controls, risk and compliance matters.
- In partnership with Global BI and the Learning & Development team, ensure proper delivery of risk-based training programme on our Code, policies and standards, and monitor effectiveness of the same.
- Oversee the market’s/function’s breach management process (including publicising channels, supporting investigations as assigned, undertaking remediation management, and evaluating the adequacy/consistency of breach consequences) and conduct a ‘root cause analysis’ to inform 'lessons learned' communications / engagement as needed.
- Facilitate risk management activities such as the consolidation of KRIs, coordinate periodic governance forums (i.e. RMCs), and oversee automatic monitoring / analytics to enable simplified and proactive management of risk.
- Use data related to compliance and the insights from such data to enable timely actions.
- Facilitate market’s/function’s governance (compliance, risk, controls), such as the tracking and reporting of remediations for identified deficiencies within agreed upon time periods, and supporting submissions to the ARC and FAC.
- Collaborate with Global Controls Assurance (GCA) team in annual mapping of controls owners to help identify if owners have changed since prior year.
- Advise GCA as to the market’s/function’s unique risks, if any, for example, by sharing risk-based inputs on non-SOX scoping (as SOX scoping is fully handled by GCA) and the controls training agenda (as proposed and provided by GCA).
- Inform relevant partners as to impact of new regulations related to compliance and partner with GCA as to business change projects (e.g., processes, systems, route to market): GCA will instruct as to controls implications and changes to the control framework, and BI will consult with GCA as to local market nuances and other compliance implications

Leadership:
Win through Execution
- Sets and pursues direction without guidance and takes a wide view of their accountabilities
- High energy and ambition to achieve successful outcomes and high standards
- Balances analysis and execution, and adjusts thinking in the face of new information or due to transformation processes
- Proactively spots and prioritises opportunities and issues
- Generates a range of workable solutions, and partners with leaders to decide what should be done and by when, and takes action: setting bold but realistic deadlines to achieve the goals in timely manner and proper follow up on key business priorities.

Shape the Future
- Sees the big picture and possibility from multiple angles and through a creative lens.
- Critical thinking to analyze trends and propose how we should address the issues through a practical and impactful approach
- Responsible for creating, driving and embedding best-in-class Programs and Business Integrity agenda across Diageo Mexico
- Frames issues in a way that creates clarity and incorporates others' best thinking
- Accurately digests large amounts of information and breaks down complex problems thoroughly
- Challenges themselves and others to take on new or unfamiliar tasks and ways of working
