**What You Will Do In Your Role**

Influence product design and development by working closely with tooling engineers, tooling suppliers, Manufacturing Integration Engineers and production teams. Assure that the mechanical and electrical designs of Molex Vehicle Antenna Systems products are aligned with best practices for tooling and manufacturing. The DFM engineer is responsible for verifying that mechanical components’ drawings and supporting documentation are released on time according to VAS processes and coordinating engineering activities related to Design Verification and Process Validation builds.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Interact closely with tool makers, MIE, and production facilities teams to support successful product launch.
- Lead the Design for Manufacturability (DFM) analysis and manage its process. Manage the plans and statuses of tooled components.
- Act as integral part of VAS product design reviews to verify that all components are manufacturable.
- Recommend design modifications based on tooling capabilities, design-intent, cost, and quality.
- Work as a key member of the product development team to understand all customer’s specifications and validation requirements.
- Work with Project and Program Management teams to understand timelines and priorities to assure adequate product development processes and activities.
- Work closely with tool makers to verify that all components are built to specifications. Implement methods, tools, gages to qualify component integrity and geometry.
- Verify that assembly processes for VAS products are optimized for cost, quality, and timing. Support evaluation of automation versus manual process for the various VAS products.
- Support trial builds intended for engineering design verifications and other purposes. Recommend alternative materials and techniques to simulate final design. Monitor product builds personally or through video and virtual links.
- Support DV and PV builds by leading validation failures root-cause analysis related to manufacturing processes and material or product design and coordinate activities with Engineering, Validation, PM, and Manufacturing.
- Support manufacturing teams with assembly fixtures needed for DV and PV part builds.
- Verify release of all CAD models, 2D drawings, and supporting documents in PLM system. Review ECOs, drawings, and tolerance stack analysis.
- Support customer’s PDTs as needed with data driven presentations and engineering solutions.
- Maintain a lesson learned and best practice list of items related to design, materials, processes, etc.

**The Experience You Will Bring**

**Requirements**:

- 3 years’ experience in project management for electromechanical products
- 3 years of experience working with tooling engineers and tooling makers; strong knowledge of tooling capabilities and limitations for the various processes including plastic injection molding, metal die-case, and progressive sheet-metal dies.
- 3- years of experience and strong technical understanding of mechanical design parameters and implications of DFM.
- Experience with supporting product assembly builds for DV and PV, strong understanding of products assembly processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of material properties for the various plastics and metals, as well as the post processes like plating.
- ** English Professional Proficiency
