- Position Responsibilities:
- Lead and direct the work of test engineers & support personnel to ensure the completion of new product evaluations and product qualifications to customers' specifications and benchmarked products.
- Oversee test engineering operations, maintain & track costs/budgets, uphold company policy, review performance, make staffing/disciplinary recommendations & resolve issues with day-to-day operations.
- Train, develop & motivate employees, champion individual & team efforts to aid managers in the development of professionals in order to achieve individual leadership & company objectives.
- Lead multiple major projects of high complexity requiring innovative solutions & customer interaction.
- Manage long-range project planning and budget tracking for multiple projects.
- Oversee troubleshooting and root cause analysis for product issues with involvement in escalation/resolution activities.
- Provide specialist-level technical guidance to multiple groups ensuring the completion of testing activities for new & existing products to meet company & customer requirements.
- Lead and participate in department activities to test & develop electrified powertrains, including automatic transmissions, torque converters, axles and e-mobility products, continuously improve existing testing & analysis techniques & to develop new departmental processes.
- Oversee multiple technical engineering groups & projects simultaneously.
- Work with global ZF engineering teams (including Research & Development, Project Management, Design, hardware validation & Quality) to implement strategies and/or initiatives at the production facility & for ZF North America.
- Maintain test equipment resources for laboratory usage; direct actions necessary to develop alternatives to problems & to ensure that timelines are upheld.
- Assign projects to test engineers & support personnel to build prototype, calibration, and test specimens across the entire product line; track tasks and project timelines and ensure completion of activities.
- Supervise/Support root cause analysis by using existing quality tools like FMEA, 6Sigma, 6M or others.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, formal training, reviewing professional publications, establishing, and expanding professional networks, and participating in professional societies to improve awareness/understanding of state-of-the-art testing equipment/methods.
- Ensure departmental compliance with all IATF - 16949 and ISO-14001 requirements, ZF corporate policies, and divisional directives; initiate and support the development of new procedures if necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- 8-10+ years of advanced experience
- Proven communication skills both verbal and written.
- Proven project leadership abilities.
- Expert-level knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within Engineering.
- Experience with customer communication systems.
- Extensive experience with engineering change systems
- Expert-level knowledge of company products and services acquired through experience and training.
- Fully proficient and recognized as competent in their area of specialty.
- In-depth, specialist-level knowledge of company products & engineering techniques/principles
- Experience creating complex timelines and managing complex, long-term project plans
- Proven knowledge and ability in methods of communication, motivation, negotiation, and conflict management skills with a high level of initiative/drive
- Comprehensive understanding of measurement techniques & powertrain/vehicle systems testing methods
- Familiarity with DFMEA’s and DVP&R’s
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, INCA, FAMOS, Axalant, SAP and other relevant software
- Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills
- Excellent English language competency

- Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 10+ years of advance engineering experience
