Sr Buyer

Acts as team leader and strong motivator of self and others, providing instruction and guidance to buyers to drive and deliver results. Develop strategic sourcing plans and manage sourcing activities for the commodities. Performs comparative analysis of competing suppliers in order to recommend the most competitive source for specified commodity.

**Responsibilities**:

- Negotiates and establishes commodity prices in support of the department's cost reduction goals. Assists other buyers with complex price negotiation. Engages with end users of assigned commodities (client groups) to establish understanding of the requirement and specifications of commodities.
- Plans, develops, implements, and maintains cost reduction plans for assigned commodities. Track and validate cost saving data.
- Establishes, executes, and manages contracts for assigned commodities; issue and maintained purchase orders and related purchasing records.
- Coordinate activities between all departments and suppliers base to ensure contract compliance and resolution of all major issues dealing with quality, cost, delivery and results.
- Support request from others for data creation, data confirmation, status updates, and other activities as needed.
- Contributes to department knowledge transfer by facilitating onboarding of new buyers, coaching buyers, and serving as peer mentor. Communicated with global counterparts to facilitate alignment of purchasing activities. Develops critical work instructions, procedures, and engages in workflow improvements for the team and/ or department to maximize efficiency and coordination on purchasing activities.

**Education**:
Bachelor's or Master in Engineering or Business.

**Previous work experience**:

- Minimum five years of related experience at a professional level.
- Experience in the Manufacturing Industry (Automotive is a plus).

**Required knowledge**:
Commodity and market knowledge. Commercial and legal regulations knowledge.

Preferred Logistics Knowledge.

**Language**:
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills. Fully bilingual.

**Computer skills**:
SAP/ Zycus/ Tableau/ Outlook/ Excel (Windows)

**Competences**:
Good skills for presentations with top management levels.

Good oral and written communication skills; interpersonal; negotiation and cost and logistics process analysis skills.
