A completed Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
- Degree in Engineering, Operations, Logistics or related field.
- 2+ years’ work experience in logistics/transportation industry.
- Proficiency in Excel (including pivot tables, VLookUps, programming with macros and/or visual basic)
- Expertise in SQL logical programming language
- B1 - MCER English level
- Experience in managing small operations team ( 2 Tier3s)
- Full shift flexibility including overtime, holidays and weekends is needed for this role.

Job summary
Amazon’s Inbound Transportation Team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Transportation Specialist to assist in the resolution of stakeholder issues of daily freight movements flowing into and out of our Mexico´s fulfillment centers and our associated fulfillment network. This is an exciting opportunity to join a new team in a huge growth area for Amazon.

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Program Management and transportation operations management
- Continual, tactical communication with external customers (Carriers, Vendors/Suppliers) and internal customers (Retail, Finance, Software Support, Fulfillment Centers)
- Ability to pull data from numerous databases (using Excel, Access, SQL, Python and/or other data management systems) and to perform ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed
- Publish performance metrics to assist with driving business results
- Identify and eliminate root causes of defects in order to drive efficiency in Amazon’s transportation operations
- Must be able to quickly understand the business impact of the trends and make decisions that make sense based on available data
- Must be able to systematically escalate problems or variance in the information and data to the relevant owners and teams and follow through on the resolutions to ensure they are delivered
- Work within various time constraints to meet critical business needs, while measuring and identifying activities performed
- Excellent communication, both verbal and written as you will be required to create a narrative outlining your weekly findings and the variances to goals, and present these finding in a review forum

Key job responsibilities

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Daily and weekly planning with the carriers, ensuring that the loads are covered according to the LOGISTICS plan
- Operation of the Transportation Management System for communication with carriers and internal parties.
- Manage ad-hoc additional charges, cancellations and other unexpected situations so that the Transport Network in Mexico can fulfill its commitment to deliver on time with the lowest possible costs.
- Preparation of reports and analysis through tools, portals and reports; using advanced computer skills (SQL,Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).
- Develop and understand performance metrics to help drive business results.
- Follow up with carriers to ensure they are working in accordance with established expectations and agreements. This includes monitoring loads and reacting to problems / warnings generated by the systems.
- Systematically escalate issues to the relevant Carrier Manager and follow resolutions to ensure they are delivered.
- A completed Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university & 3+ years’ work experience in the logistics/transportation industry and/or 2+ years Amazon experience
- Certified advanced English Level.(B2 MCER)
- Experience in Transportation Carrier Management, Supply Chain and/or distribution environments.
- Expertise in SQL logical programming language
- Data management & data quality control experience with experience pulling and analyzing large sets of data.
- Demonstrated experience using data to drive root cause elimination and process improvement.
- A self-starter who loves data and who enjoys spotting the trends in it
