**GENERAL DESCRIPTION**
The Payroll Coordinator will support the Global Payroll Manager and local Controller by processing personnel changes to ensure accurate and timely payments to approximately 220 associates in Mexico. Responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, validation and distribution of payroll jointly with our external advisor. Reviews the computation of pay and ensures the company payroll policies are in accordance with the government regulations and SOX compliance. Responds to and resolves any inquiries regarding paychecks.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Responsible for preparing timely payroll using Workday reporting to include exceptions, compensation, new hires, leave of absence, bonuses, and deductions, pantry vouchers.
- Processes semi-monthly payroll utilizing third-party payroll providers.
- Manages and maintains a relationship with the third-party vendor.
- Enter new hires and changes to associates using a third-party provider.
- Act as a liaison between ChemTreat and third-party providers to ensure FLL/SSL accuracy.
- Calculate final payment of terminated associates.
- Process payment in accordance with Mexico Federal Labor law and maintain the vacation and paid holiday monthly accrual.
- Complete ad hoc reporting as necessary for Finance or other functions.
- Assist with month-end and year-end activities, such as account reconciliation and similar.
- Works with third part regarding local and federal taxes.
- Responsible of compensation calculation for sales commissions, attending and solving promptly all queries from commercial team
- Responsible for monthly and four-monthly REPSE deliverables (including ICSOE + SISUB returns) to be provided for customers and the commercial team.
- Supports and serves as a backup for different functions in finance**.**
**SUPPLEMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Define and implement standard work processes to gain efficiency and accuracy in reporting and to ensure standardized processing of commissions and payroll.
- Process improvement initiatives
- SOX compliance and assist with internal and external audits
**KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS**
- Strong knowledge of the Mexican laws and regulations about the remuneration process. (LFT, ISR, ISN, IMSS, INFONAVIT, REPSE, etc.)
- Strong Analytical skills and business/accounting knowledge
- Intermediate
- Advanced Skills in Excel, Word, and Microsoft Outlook.
- Self-Starter that takes pride in his/her work and takes the initiative.
- Independent thinker who can think outside the box.
- Results-oriented person that generates creative solutions.
- Must be comfortable with change and continuous improvement efforts.
- Strong Interpersonal skills; Teamwork & Leadership skills; Self-Motivated, and ability to multi-task.
- Able to clearly communicate financial results to all levels of management.

- Responsible to clarify any payroll query related.
- Able to effectively communicate with individuals for whom English is a second language.
**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 5 years of experience in payroll, variable compensation, or related role.
- Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations required.
- Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS, as it relates to payroll, preferred.
- Experience using financial reporting tools such as Excel.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
