Lead the Customs team in Juarez, creating value, agility, finding alternatives to support the growth meanwhile managing a high level of compliance in our import & export transactions.
**PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**SUPERVISION**:
- Manage and support the BRP entities in Juarez (3+ Manufacturing sites)
- Create an environment oriented to trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive team effort.
- Focus the team on the tasks at hand with our internal and external customer requirements. Communicate team status, task accomplishment, and direction.
- Strive for team consensus and win-win agreements
- Support the teams in resolving issues.
- Assure that the team members have the required education and training to accomplish their tasks
**CUSTOMS COMPLIANCE**:
- Assist the import & export team so that the Company complies with IMMEX trade laws and utilizes laws and mechanisms to reduce duty and tax liabilities.
- Compliance with all the laws and regulations that affect customs transactions and international free trades.
- Provide support to the Security dept about the supply chain security programs such as AEO and CTPAT.
- Provide support to the Finance dept about the Value Added Tax Certification.
- Self-Audit the customs operation related to import and export transactions to ensure compliance with Mexico, including MX HTS code, country of origin, value and description.
- Assist the import & export team to execute Trade Compliance policies and procedures
- Ensure on time deliveries having all requirements needed to comply with Mexican Customs regulation.
- Manage the integrity of the customs department system data
- Interfaces with Mexican Government to ensure all permits, registrations are in order.
- Manage the integrity of the recordkeeping (physical & electronic).
OPERATION MANAGEMENT
- Develop KPIs to ensure all customs transactions are in compliance with Mexican Customs Law.
- In collaboration with the Mx Compliance Manager, develop internal audits, contingency plans, workload reviews, customs department procedures, and record keeping control.
- Support production line transfers and new product introduction transition as required.
- Identify opportunities for continues improvement
- Maintain the integrity of the transactional data into the Annex 24, all transactions must be performed in the system prior the custom clearance.
- Identify new procedures and methods to expedite clearance of import & export shipments, delivery to the customer, and cost savings plans to have efficient and compliant operation.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and leads/develops recommendations to management
COST CONTROL
- Duties and taxes reconciliation data management reports to evaluate areas of opportunity.
- Manage the Customs site budget. Overhead, Brokerage and duties
- Work closely with the Customs Compliance Expert to suggest and achieve additional saving related directly or indirectly to the Customs Transactions
- Identify opportunities for cost reductions
SUPPLIER MANAGEMENT
- Customs broker relationship management, contract negotiation.
- Provide guidelines to our service providers to ensure compliance with the BRP requirements.
- Develop KPIs to evaluate the service received from our suppliers and identify opportunity areas.
- Evaluate and manage business opportunities or initiatives with our service providers. (Customs brokers)
BUSINESS REPORT
- Provide Mexican Customs & Tax advice to the business.
- Support production line transferences and new product introduction transition as required.
- FTA's support to the International Division
