**About the Role**

Provide support in general labor relations issues, employee counseling and maintains positive communications between supervisors and union

**As a Labor Relations Rep, you can expect to**:

- Making recommendations to managers and first line leaders on issues concerning employees, recruiting, turnover or training.
- Participating in implementing and administering management-labor relations to help maintain positive relations with union
- Administering compensation programs; monitoring performance evaluation programs and revising as necessary.
- Handling employee relations issues, outplacement counseling, and exit interviewing.
- Conducting organizational effectiveness assessments and recommending programs to address issues.

- Demonstrates an understanding of alternative points of view.
- Collaborates with departmental associates and management.

Employee Relations: Knowledge of the rights and obligations in the employee relations; ability to adhere to legal requirements when handling employee negotiations.

Level Working Knowledge:

- Assists employees with personal or professional problems.
- Conducts employee satisfaction surveys and documents interviewees' concerns and issues.
- Explains organizational policies, procedures and processes for dealing with employee relations issues.
- Addresses routine problems or disciplinary issues related to employee relations, such as grievances.
- Interprets and communicates employee relations policies and procedures at the local level.

HR: Policies, Standards and Procedures: Knowledge of human resource function; ability to uphold the organization's and industry's standards, procedures and policies regarding human resources management.

Level Working Knowledge:

- Analyzes policy and standards documentation and ensures organizational compliance.
- Maintains a specific set of standards and associated HR procedures.
- Communicates and refers potential exceptions upward for review and approval.
- Assists in the development and implementation of specific procedures.
- Provides feedback for the improvement of HR procedures.

**What is Required**
- Law Degree or Bachelor's degree and +4 years of Labor Relations experience supporting a manufacturing, automotive or similar organization.
- Ability to strategize and analyze information and ability to think and solve labor situations.
- Strong analytical and organizational capabilities.
- Good knowledge of various areas of HR including benefits, employment, pay-related practices/process, compensation and company policies and procedures
- Empathy, communication skills and teamwork.
- Ability to lead and control a discussion using techniques.
- Conflict resolution.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Search for information and investigation of facts.
- Advanced English (Conversational).
- Experience with production workforce
- Experience with union negotiations
- 6 Sigma Green Belt

**Additional Information**
- Moderate travel required (5% - 15% of working time)
- Employee may also be responsible for performing other job duties occasionally as assigned.
