Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Buyer located in Guadalajara, North Campus.
Reporting to the Materials Manager, Buyer role involves purchasing order, placement of materials manager, follow-up with suppliers, executing messages and taking care of on-time payment to suppliers and material receipt in the system. Works closely with planning on securing materials.
What a typical day looks like:
- Reviews requisitions and MRP output.
- Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
- Determines methods of procurement such as a direct purchase.
- Orders, reschedules, and cancels material based on requisitions and MRP output.
- Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, and inventories.
- Manages supplier to price, delivery, and quality expectations and escalates when appropriate.
- Approves invoices for payment.
- Expedites delivery of goods to users.
- Analyzes inventory levels. Prepares liability reports for excess and obsolete management.
- May gather quotations, examine bids, negotiate contracts and make awards.
- May plan, schedule and monitor the movement of materials through the production cycle.
- Interfaces with suppliers and customers to secure both delivery and the best market price.
- Makes tactical buying decisions.
- Executes corporate sourcing programs and purchases high-dollar parts.
- Negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
- Estimates values according to the knowledge of market price.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- BA/BS or equivalent work experience.
- Advanced English.
- Previous experience in similar positions.
- NPI previous experience.
- Previous experience in the industry.
- Previous experience using some ERP (Oracle, SAP, etc.)
- Advanced Excel.
- Follow up with supplier.
- Negotiation skills.
- Experience using Kinaxis & Baan is also a plus.
