Swoon is actively hiring for Cost Accountants to join the team in Matehuala

This role is based in Matehuala, but is only required to be on-site one week a month For the first 90 days, you will be on-site for 2 weeks in the month

What will your day-to-day will look like?

- Lead cost accounting activities including monthly close, journal entries, reconciliations, and preparation of cost-related financial statements.
- Maintain and analyze standard costs, variances, and margin performance to provide insights for improving profitability and cost efficiency.
- Manage inventory valuation, physical and cycle counts, and oversee capital project accounting (CIP and fixed assets).
- Partner with operations, engineering, and supply chain on production performance, new product costing, BOM accuracy, and routing validation.
- Develop costing methodologies, internal controls, and reporting dashboards using Excel/BI tools to support compliance and executive decision-making.
- Mentor junior staff, support audits/tax reporting, and drive ERP, process automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What’s Required / Technical Skills

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA/CMA preferred, with 5–7 years of cost accounting experience in manufacturing.
- Strong expertise in cost accounting, standard costing, inventory valuation, and ERP systems (SAP highly preferred; JD Edwards, Dynamics, Oracle also valued).
- Advanced Excel skills required; experience with Power BI, SQL, or other data analytics tools, plus ERP implementation exposure, is a strong advantage.
- Proven ability to drive cross-functional initiatives, communicate effectively at all levels, and support lean manufacturing or cost-saving projects.
