We are seeking a Data Practice Director to lead our Data, Analytics, and AI capabilities within the Mexico Delivery Center. This role is responsible for defining the strategic vision, driving technical excellence, and ensuring high-quality delivery across all data-focused engagements. The ideal candidate is a data leader with a balance of technical depth, business acumen, and consulting delivery experience, capable of building and scaling high-performing teams that deliver measurable outcomes

Responsibilities:

- Define and execute the strategic roadmap for the Data Practice, aligning with Apex's global vision and client needs.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams across Data Engineering, Analytics, BI, and AI/ML to deliver high-impact, scalable data solutions.
- Partner with global clients to understand business challenges, define data strategies, and architect enterprise-grade solutions.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and governance of modern data platforms (cloud-native, lakehouse, and hybrid architectures).
- Drive best practices around data quality, observability, and MLOps, ensuring reliable and production-ready systems.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to senior engineers, architects, and data scientists.
- Collaborate with Apex leadership to grow practice capabilities, define offerings, and build reusable solution accelerators.
- Ensure engagement profitability, team utilization, and delivery excellence across all data projects.
- Stay ahead of emerging technologies and trends in cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), AI/ML, and data automation.
- Represent Apex in client meetings, conferences, and strategic partnerships as a thought leader in Data and AI.

Qualifications:

- 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering, BI, or AI, with at least 5 years in leadership or practice management roles.
- Proven success leading enterprise-scale data initiatives, ideally in consulting or delivery center environments.
- Deep expertise in cloud data platforms (Azure Synapse, Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift).
- Strong understanding of data architecture, integration, governance, and analytics frameworks.
- Knowledge of machine learning, AI platforms, and applied data science concepts.
- Experience managing large distributed teams and multi-project delivery portfolios.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and client advisory skills.
- English fluency (C1 level) for executive-level communication with global clients.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience establishing or scaling a Data Practice or Center of Excellence (CoE).
- Familiarity with MLOps, DataOps, and Automation toolchains.
- Certifications in Azure Data Engineer / Architect, AWS Data Analytics, or Google Professional Data Engineer.
- Understanding of financial management, resource planning, and delivery operations.
- Experience engaging with global clients across North America and Europe.
